Participantits simple…
Bruce doesn’t mind the dancing when its a band gig and he is playing a “party song.” He has never, and will never, accept this sort of behavior when he is either:
A. playing a slow, deeply personal song like “Fields of Grey”
B. playing a recital (solo show)Same Bruce, different concert formats.

ParticipantWell Will the email you received from Melissa is completely in line with the stated policy on the site:
“Dear Will,
There are no board patches, but you may record as long as the venue does not ban it.
Thanks for writing,
Melissa”I know Bruce and I know that he fully supports audience taping of his concerts. Any theater personnel that informed you otherwise is full of it.
BTW, the Keswick in Glenside, PA most certainly allows taping so if you are planning on hitting that show next week please bring your gear! We all appreciate the hard work you in producing high quality recordings of Bruce’s shows!

ParticipantWill_S wrote:This is all very strange. The 2002 Villa Montalvo shows were being videotaped for the DirecTV production and yet open taping was allowed. Wayne’s had his Powerbook there making a multitrack recording of every show I’ve been to since at least 2001 and yet taping was allowed.I sent an email to the official “Contact Us” link on Bruce’s website asking if there had been a change in taping policy and got this reply:
“Dear Will,
There are no board patches, but you may record as long as the venue does not ban it.

I’d be interested to hear what clarification you can get, Si.
Well then, it sounds like venue management was giving you a line of BS. A record label can’t force their artists to ban audience taping, especially not an artist of Bruce’s stature.
