Wow, great replies. Thanks, everyone.
I’m trying to figure it out on the fiddle as well, but I haven’t been playing long so I’ve been unsuccesful so far. My teacher seems to think it may even be a Scottish jig. She played it right away, but can’t remember the name.
I heard “Black Rats of London” at the Lowell show. Great tune, but I don’t believe it’s the same as the jig I’m asking about. My dad’s a retired history teacher and he’s actually the one that requested it on 8/14/08. He thinks it’s part of the score from a short movie that is shown at the visitors center in Colonial Williamsburg called “The Story of a Patriot.” The music was done by Bernard Hermann.
Well, hopefully one of us will figure it out sooner or later. Thanks again, folks.
