Participantsi_twining wrote:Okay guys – we’re after some help! The next cover project of Bruce songs is underway, and we’d like all of you to be involved!
We really need a title for the project – something maybe to recognise this being the fourth such project, or maybe more appropriately, next year marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of The Way It Is being released.
Suggested names so far include: Connect 4, Five Jacks (English slang for 25 pounds), Quarter Pounder, Bull’s Eye (a score of 25 in archery or darts), After Notes, Fourth Chord, Perfect Fourth, and my favourite so far, Quarter Ton(e) Scales.
Can you do any better? Post any suggestions. and you’ll get full credit if your selection is chosen!
How about ‘Go Forth From The Range’ ?
heheh.
By the way Si, and idea when this website will work ok with a mac,- this mobile version drives me nuuuuuts!

Participantoh I’m a quick writer,- 20minutes.
If it’s not done in 20mins then I find it hard to recapture the mojo later on.
I write the lyrics and the music as I go – and maybe I’ll revise a bit that doesn’t work very well later,- but on the whole the idea for the song pings into existence and then I’ll go about creating the song to depict the idea.
Wheels is a more complex song than first impressions will allude to,- a mix of environmental issues, comment on a stagnant society and the blind leading the blind.

Participantwell, Not another moment to waste was inspired by planning our new daughter Hazel
and Kenya was inspired by a really hot chick who I didn’t have the balls to ask out many many years ago and she really did go to Kenya “helpin folks out”

What you got was the sampler lesson that’s supposed to whet your appetite for more so that we can clean out your wallet and turn you into the next Henry Mancini or something. Wait till you get the bill. How did you know that was my “goal” in life? 😆 How do I “subscribe” for the “main event”? 😆 Always wanted to know how to do a Bm7! 😆 How many lessons do I have to “subscribe” to before I know how to do “the cheats” Bm7? 😆

ParticipantDavid Day wrote:rdiakun wrote:Sure… you take you basic C chord, for instance. In its’ most simple voicing, you’d play a C, the E above it (the third), a G above it (the fifth), and the next C above it (the octave). If you take the C on top, and drop it down a whole step to a B-flat, you have your standard dominant 7th chord. It gives the chord a whole new sound while retaining the basic tonal center. Along with a lot of other rock writers, the Beatles did a ton of this in their music, which is why I made that particular connection. Try it out on a piano or guitar, David. It’s hard to explain the change that putting that 7th on the chord makes, but it gives it a hip kind of edge to it.We always called that a “round robin”. Harder for me to do on guitar than piano. Would always “bar” an E and do it. Would be interesting to know how daverich does it on guitar!
Or, any other guitar player.
David Day
Lake Lanier, GAI dont play them often (I’m not fond of the sound of a 7th,-*love* Major/Minor 7ths though) – but when I do I generally cheat and just play 3 or 4 of the notes – like the cheats B7 – which is 021200 and just play the fingered notes.

Space is the place would be alot better IF THE WHOLE RECORD WASNT SO DAMN LOUD!
