This Skaggs habit is getting annoyingIt’s got to be a “business decision”. You got to go wherever the cash machine is happening! You got to respect Bruce for that! Be happy that it’s happening for him! You would do the same thing!
Be patient! The Noisemakers will come back around!
It will be sweeter whenever that happens!
At least give thanks for Bruce’s Christmas present download! I have a feeling he is trying to look after us!

Lake Lanier, GAyou are of course correct, and yeah I do understand it.
I guess it’s all good for bruce, and he’s probably gaining more fans for doing it.
*grumble*

well I guess the most I can hope for is the odd show that’ll be well publicised in advance.

And to answer a question I’ve been asked several times – emphatically, this is not the end of the road for the Noisemakers!
good to hear there’ll be some.
I only need to know about one! (and with reasonable notice, and ideally in the autumn would be nice,- oh and can I have a front seat please

ParticipantI think it’d be a fine tribute cd cover.
The look of abject “errr, ok- i’ll give this a go but I’m not sure!” – it’s priceless

Participantwe’re thinking of coming over this year, but if there’s no noisemakers gigs I might leave it til next year.
Gotta see em at least once in my life!

ParticipantI got the new Marc Cohn Cd.
biggest anti-climax for a loooong time, terrible work.
it’s lazy songwriting, lazy production (very very compressed and harsh sounding also) and to be honest it’s hard to believe he’s released this pile of dross.
If there ever was a Hornsby vs Cohn thing goin on then I bet bruce had a chuckle listening to this bland and desperate work.
I wouldn’t be to hard on it if I wasn’t expecting an excellent album though I guess.

Participantall the recording is now done,- but I can’t edit it yet ‘cos we’ve got electricians in the studio today.
Brian recorded a lovely Jazzy guitar solo last night,- kinda like a cross between Clapton and Metheny, very tasty indeed.
We’ve also started gigging the tune, people seem to really like it even though they’ve never heard it before – so often the way with bruce’s stuff.

Participantfirst thing I would say is learn how to use a capo.
You will find most songs fit in a certain harmonic pattern and can be easily played on guitar if you know which fret to put the capo on.
Halcyon days should be very easy.

– whilst this is great, I did have a look at the brucehornsbylive website – I personally think the downloads are too expensive – not hugely, but I would certainly be more inclined to download for $10.

A long time ago, I made my peace with the fact that my right hand is far better than my left hand, and that I might never achieve “two hand independence.” However, for the sake of the challenge, I might try to find some way to slip something along those lines (a.k.a. throw you a bone, feeble as it may be) into my arrangement of The Chill. It’s still taking shape, so there’s lots of room for doinking around with it.That sounds good! I hope you know I was just kidding you! 😆 I don’t know if anyone can do the take off on “Circus” except for Bruce. Maybe daverich, or daveR or even Todd can step up to the plate!
Anyone accept the challenge?

On a another note, no pun intended 😆 , the Mid-Life Crisis lives! 😆 More of a guitar/organ type of band. I’m struggling to come up with something. Any ideas?

Lake Lanier, GAhmmmm.
I think if I did it I would do what I suspect Bruce does most of the time – just jam around that idea and that chord structure.
I’m happy to have a stab at it though, and I do need to think of something to do for the next tribute cd. –

Participantabsolutely agree.
Bruce shines on his live recordings in a way that the studio tracks just don’t show at all – even the ones which feature the more improvised stuff.
I mean,- they’re not bad – they’re really nice tunes with that unique “bruce” flavour we all know and love,- but they just miss that magic,- possibly that more “human” feel of the live stuff.
