Participantrdiakun wrote:Sure… you take you basic C chord, for instance. In its’ most simple voicing, you’d play a C, the E above it (the third), a G above it (the fifth), and the next C above it (the octave). If you take the C on top, and drop it down a whole step to a B-flat, you have your standard dominant 7th chord. It gives the chord a whole new sound while retaining the basic tonal center. Along with a lot of other rock writers, the Beatles did a ton of this in their music, which is why I made that particular connection. Try it out on a piano or guitar, David. It’s hard to explain the change that putting that 7th on the chord makes, but it gives it a hip kind of edge to it.We always called that a “round robin”. Harder for me to do on guitar than piano. Would always “bar” an E and do it. Would be interesting to know how daverich does it on guitar!
Or, any other guitar player.

ParticipantOn my screen porch this evening drinking a Long Tall Cool One!
It’s a rainy night in Georgia!
Listening to Levitate! Trying to find a song that’s in my head. Can’t remember the name of it, but maybe you can help?
Has something to do with “time to get a buzz on” and some form of “specialized skills” and hunting “turkey” and “squirrel”.
I couldn’t help but think ❗ …..Have we not talked about the “Hornsby Cookbook” and BBQ squirrel before? At that time, it was unanimous that BBQ squirrel would be SMP’s favorite! 😆
Trying to find that song! Can anyone help me find that song? It’s a great song! Some nice sax in it from Bobby! What is the name of that song?

Don’t be “bashful”! (Maybe the infamous MVF can correct me if I misspelled that wrong!)

No need to be “nervous”! More than likely, Bruce will show. Just remember, he puts his pants on one leg at at a time just like you do! 😆 I’m sure he will like you!
My only advice, for whatever it’s worth…..Remember Bruce is a piano player. Give him a “soft” “piano player” type of handshake. Not a “vice grip”, if you know what I mean. Bruce will appreciate that!
Enjoy!
That’s my story and I’m stickin to it!

ParticipantWalking Infraction wrote:I know “Liberal Lois” must be proud of this album… Bruce sure does lay his politics out on the line, probably more explicitly than ever.Great point Walking Infraction! You’re right! Is there some “subliminal messages” attached?
On the other hand…..You don’t have to agree. But, shouldn’t we be “respectful” of everyone’s “point of view”? Isn’t it the music and the “total package” that we like in Bruce?

It’s “creative”!
To grow, you gosta be stretched and it will “stretch” you a little!
On the other hand…..Isn’t that what we like about Bruce? Creativity in his studio music means great shows?
Can’t help but think that PDT is an “extension” of BSF. BSF grew on me on now it’s on my regular “rotation” because it’s very creative.
What do you think
: Is PDT a “grown up” BSF
