It’s time! After savering on this one a couple weeks, it’s time to post a review.

It was a great show! The Botanical Gardens was a beautiful venue! There was one problem though…..There was a “water moat” in front of the stage that had some incredible water lillies growing in it. The crowd mainly sat on blankets behind the moat, so therefore, there was no real place to stand or dance.

The crowd was the best crowd I’ve ever seen for a show in ATL! Most of the time Bruce plays at Chastain Park where the “artsie fartsie” crowd have tables with their catered meals, wine, and candles going. They are there for more of a social event than a show. At the Botanical Gardens, the crowd was more into Bruce than a social event. This was the first show in ATL that I’ve seen that the crowd really loved Bruce!

Even though there was a moat in front of the stage, Wayne Pooley worked his bu## off, making sure reguest got to Bruce. You could take request to the side of the stage and Wayne made sure Bruce would get them. You could not really tell that this was the first show in a while for the Noisemakers even though there was some talk about being “rusty” and not having it all together. They were really “tight” and the song selection flowed very well knowing what Bruce played in ATL, he would not play at Biltmo.

Before the show, JT came out and was able to talk to him for a while. Says he’s been doing some gigs with Rita Cooledge and staying busy. Bobby came out and told JT is was “time” and had a chance to say hi to Bobby. White Wheeled Limo was a great start that got the crowd cranked!

Normally, when Bruce comes to ATL, it’s a “Bruce Lite” show with Biltmo being a “Bruce Heavy” show. This was the first time in ATL, with the exception of the infamous “solo” show where the Noisemakers showed, that to my surprise and pleasure, it was not “Bruce Lite” at all! I think that once Bruce saw that this was a different crowd than Chastain Park, he really fed to the crowd and gave a great show!

It was great to be “amongst and btween” Carey and SMP! We had a hot house ball! It’s always nice to be around true fans and tell “road warrior” stories!

The question remains…..Which was better ATL or Biltmo?

    The answer…..Both! :D

That’s my story and I’m stickin to it! 😆

    Hey Si!

In the “Davidian style” as Vic would say, it would be interesting to know what you think my favs would be. 8-) Don’t forget that I have heard a few selections at ATL & Bilmo. Reading Jonathan’s post on Simple Prayer, on the other hand, is very tempting to me to “check in”. :D

As tempting as it may be, I’m going to be a “hold out”! That’s my story and I’m stickin to it! 😆

Am I the only one who’s trying like hell not to listen to it now? It almost feels like opening a Christmas present early! I sampled most of the tracks and really enjoyed them, but I kind of look forward to that first listen on the way out of the parking lot at Best Buy (or in this case fresh out of the mailbox if I preorder at Amazon). It’s tough though… I don’t know if I’ll make it.

    Hey Heath!

I’m there with you! Not going to listen until I can put it on the big speakers and blast my neighbors. I have a reputation to uphold! 😆 Plus a tradition to carry on…..or should I say superstition? :geek:

There’s has been some confusion over my comment about “hitting that white little fella” that needs to be clarified. What we’re talkin bout is a round of golf and not intened to be drug related at all!

Looking forward to seeing ya at ATL and Biltmo! If you have any time to hit that “white little fella”, would love to do that! Just let me know! I’ve already checked the bug forecast for ATL and none are on the horizon! Working on that “singin voice” for Biltmo?

From my experience, as long as you are at the House by 6:45 when the gates open, you should be able to get a great place to sit or stand.

    Schedule of Events
    Biltmore House
3:00 Pre-meet-up on the Veranda at the Inn
4:00 Meet-up on the Veranda at the Inn
    4:30 Group pictures
5:00 Dinner is served at the Inn (Food is always available on the Veranda)
6:00 First shuttle leaves the Inn to the House
    6:45 Gates open
    8:00 Bruuuce!

Marc, from Cincy, I know you will be there! 8-) Just make sure your “back side” is there for group pics! Any friends you have coming not staying at the Inn, make sure you have a guest list when you check in.

Monica, I already have you “covered”! 😆

The first shuttle leaves at 6:00 and gates open at 6:45. Shuttles run from the Inn every half hour.

If you are not staying at the the Inn, you can either take a shuttle or drive to the House where you car will be after the show. Shuttles run from the House back to the Inn on a regular basis. If you take a shuttle back to the Inn, you always have the option of coming to the meet-up after the meet-up! 😆 You have many options. :D

FYI, from the Inn to the House is about 3-4 miles. It’s a big place!

Get the picture…..If you look up big in dictionary…..You know the rest! 😆

Due to popular demand, we will move the meet-up time at the Veranda back to 3:00 with a group picture at 4:30. Please don’t be there before 3:00 because the Inn may not have my guest list till then.

For guest coming to the Inn, if you don’t want to pay for valet parking, park in the lower lot before you reach the Inn and just walk up. Walk in the front door and ask for the Veranda. That simple!

    Get fired up!

Here are the “general rules” as far as lawn chairs, food, drink, cameras, etc.

It’s a beautiful venue! Get fired up!

Got an e-mail from someone very special to this board and will be at the meet-up! Tango King you coming?

    David Day
    Lake Lanier, GA

    General Rules:
Seating is General Admission on the Great Lawn and surrounding areas. Ticketholders are welcome to bring blankets or low-riding chairs. Any patron sitting in a chair with legs that are taller than a basketball, or with a seat-back that is higher than shoulder-blade height, will be asked to move to the side of the lawn so as to not obstruct anyone’s view. This is for the convenience of all visitors.
Outside food, beverage and coolers may NOT be brought into the Garden. Complete dinners (appetizers, salads, entrees, sandwiches and desserts) are available for pre-order on the Atlanta Botanical Garden website, and a limited menu will also be available during the show. Pre-orders are strongly suggested for best selection and shortest wait time.
Beer, wine, soft drinks and bottled water will be available for purchase on-site. Please do NOT bring beverage containers of any sort with you to the concert.
All shows are rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. There will be no refunds in case of inclement weather.
Children aged two or younger receive free admission. All others require a ticket. Please use your best judgment when bringing a child to a concert; sound levels may be damaging to tiny ears.

Due to the sensitive nature of the Garden’s grounds and plant beds, smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Garden’s buildings or grounds. Pets (with the exception of service animals for the blind) are not allowed on the property at any time.
At the request of the artists, there is no photography allowed during any SunTrust Concerts in the Garden. Please leave your camera at home. The Garden will not be responsible for any stored or confiscated photo equipment.

A good place to have a meet-up before the meet-up is the Veranda where we will be meeting for the meet-up at 4:00. I hope to be there by 3:00 and I know others will come early as well. I should have everyone on the guest list by 2:00.

    Here’s the Biltmore PR:

    Veranda
Enjoy refreshments on the Veranda, while you take in the awe-inspiring vista of the French Broad River framed by the smoky outline of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

MVF, to get to the Veranda you need to
    a. drive to the Inn
    b. valet park
    c. walk inside and ask for the Veranda.
    That easy!

We will plan a group picture around 4:30 so everyone bring your camera.

    It will be a blast!

    David Day
    Lake Lanier, GA

Monica, MVF was looking for someone to stay with her. Jackie has tickets. The show is rain or shine.
