MaryVic? Good lookin? Had to be an impersonator! 😈 Maybe you need your eyes examined! 😆
Do yourself a favor. Click on the “Community” link above and then “Pen Pics”. Now…..Was that “THE Vic” that sat next to you? 😆
On the other hand…..Glad you guys met! Vic is a true gentleman and a Road Scholar (sometimes)! 😆

ParticipantIt’s time! After savering on this one a couple weeks, it’s time to post a review.
It was a great show! The Botanical Gardens was a beautiful venue! There was one problem though…..There was a “water moat” in front of the stage that had some incredible water lillies growing in it. The crowd mainly sat on blankets behind the moat, so therefore, there was no real place to stand or dance.
The crowd was the best crowd I’ve ever seen for a show in ATL! Most of the time Bruce plays at Chastain Park where the “artsie fartsie” crowd have tables with their catered meals, wine, and candles going. They are there for more of a social event than a show. At the Botanical Gardens, the crowd was more into Bruce than a social event. This was the first show in ATL that I’ve seen that the crowd really loved Bruce!
Even though there was a moat in front of the stage, Wayne Pooley worked his bu## off, making sure reguest got to Bruce. You could take request to the side of the stage and Wayne made sure Bruce would get them. You could not really tell that this was the first show in a while for the Noisemakers even though there was some talk about being “rusty” and not having it all together. They were really “tight” and the song selection flowed very well knowing what Bruce played in ATL, he would not play at Biltmo.
Before the show, JT came out and was able to talk to him for a while. Says he’s been doing some gigs with Rita Cooledge and staying busy. Bobby came out and told JT is was “time” and had a chance to say hi to Bobby. White Wheeled Limo was a great start that got the crowd cranked!
Normally, when Bruce comes to ATL, it’s a “Bruce Lite” show with Biltmo being a “Bruce Heavy” show. This was the first time in ATL, with the exception of the infamous “solo” show where the Noisemakers showed, that to my surprise and pleasure, it was not “Bruce Lite” at all! I think that once Bruce saw that this was a different crowd than Chastain Park, he really fed to the crowd and gave a great show!
It was great to be “amongst and btween” Carey and SMP! We had a hot house ball! It’s always nice to be around true fans and tell “road warrior” stories!
The question remains…..Which was better ATL or Biltmo?
The answer…..Both!
That’s my story and I’m stickin to it! 😆

In the “Davidian style” as Vic would say, it would be interesting to know what you think my favs would be.
Don’t forget that I have heard a few selections at ATL & Bilmo. Reading Jonathan’s post on Simple Prayer, on the other hand, is very tempting to me to “check in”.
As tempting as it may be, I’m going to be a “hold out”! That’s my story and I’m stickin to it! 😆

I sampled most of the tracks and really enjoyed them, but I kind of look forward to that first listen on the way out of the parking lot at Best Buy (or in this case fresh out of the mailbox if I preorder at Amazon). It’s tough though… I don’t know if I’ll make it.
HeathHey Heath!
I’m there with you! Not going to listen until I can put it on the big speakers and blast my neighbors. I have a reputation to uphold! 😆 Plus a tradition to carry on…..or should I say superstition? :geek:

Time to put on the Road Warrior face once again! 😆
Lots of people will be there and lots of people to see. MVF, SMP, Molo, Tango King, Marc, Zann, the “Summa Cum Laude” of Road Scholars Carey, and babytweety2yo. All coming from great distances with one thing in mind and with one “common denominator”!

Hey JV!
Looking forward to seeing ya at ATL and Biltmo! If you have any time to hit that “white little fella”, would love to do that! Just let me know! I’ve already checked the bug forecast for ATL and none are on the horizon! Working on that “singin voice” for Biltmo?

Response from JV: Hey David,
I’m not gonna have time to hit the rock this week but, I will see what we can do in Asheville. I am excited about this tour starting. It looks like we are gonna work a lot this summer and fall. No bugs, that is always a good thing:-)
See ya in the ATL… PEACE!David Day

ParticipantMarc, from Cincy, I know you will be there!
Just make sure your “back side” is there for group pics! Any friends you have coming not staying at the Inn, make sure you have a guest list when you check in.
Monica, I already have you “covered”! 😆
The first shuttle leaves at 6:00 and gates open at 6:45. Shuttles run from the Inn every half hour.
If you are not staying at the the Inn, you can either take a shuttle or drive to the House where you car will be after the show. Shuttles run from the House back to the Inn on a regular basis. If you take a shuttle back to the Inn, you always have the option of coming to the meet-up after the meet-up! 😆 You have many options.
FYI, from the Inn to the House is about 3-4 miles. It’s a big place!
Get the picture…..If you look up big in dictionary…..You know the rest! 😆

ParticipantI need to finalize the guest list for the Inn. Larry, you coming? Todd, you coming? Rich, that’s probably asking way too much! 😆 Wish you all could make it!
Looks like a good crowd!
You don’t want to miss it!

ParticipantDue to popular demand, we will move the meet-up time at the Veranda back to 3:00 with a group picture at 4:30. Please don’t be there before 3:00 because the Inn may not have my guest list till then.
For guest coming to the Inn, if you don’t want to pay for valet parking, park in the lower lot before you reach the Inn and just walk up. Walk in the front door and ask for the Veranda. That simple!
Get fired up!

ParticipantA good place to have a meet-up before the meet-up is the Veranda where we will be meeting for the meet-up at 4:00. I hope to be there by 3:00 and I know others will come early as well. I should have everyone on the guest list by 2:00.
Here’s the Biltmore PR:
Veranda
Enjoy refreshments on the Veranda, while you take in the awe-inspiring vista of the French Broad River framed by the smoky outline of the Blue Ridge Mountains.MVF, to get to the Veranda you need to
a. drive to the Inn
b. valet park
c. walk inside and ask for the Veranda.
That easy!We will plan a group picture around 4:30 so everyone bring your camera.
It will be a blast!
