Just to add to my earlier post – JV is under the impression that any Noisemakers shows will be in August.
No idea on venues at all, but if I were to speculate, I’d suggest the New York and DC area. It will have been two years since a Wolf Trap gig…

Or, we could book a place in Williamsburg, but we’d have to avoid the summer, ‘cuz that’s prime tourist season and everything costs twice as much.

That’s not asking too much is it? 😆 😆 😆

(now – y’all know I’m just bustin’ on him… only because I love him to bits. Are you feeling the love on the board? huh? Are ya?)

gdwoman, thank you soo much! :D Like I said before, you need to “check-in” more often! 8)

That solves a lot of questions I’ve always had. I’ve always wondered about some of Bruce’s “roots”. 8) Have you ever seen the Octane Kids? Let us know! 8) Plez? 8)

Congratulations Monica! You just set the standard! 8) I knew Texas was big, but I didn’t know it was that big! 😆 😳

Lastly, even though being Road Warrior of the Year will be a distinct honor, the ultimate goal will remain to be called to the hollowed status of Road Scholar. In another post, Vic listed all the current Road Scholars! 😆 That list remains the same! 😆

It’s time! :D Who will be the Road Scholar of the Year for ‘2007? :?:

Will it be Carey again? Will it be LolaPulsa? Will it be Kat? Will it be gdwoman? Will it be Allisa, Vic, MVF, Treah or even me? 😆

I have a feeling that there is someone out there that can be crowned the new King (or Queen) of the Hill for ‘2007. In fact, I met a lady at Guilford that had many very impressive road trips! 8)

I hope that she will repsond to the forum (finally) and report in and I hope that you will too! :D

Let us know the number of shows you went to in ‘2007, the approximate number of miles driven and the number of states you had to drive thru to get to those shows. 8)

To refresh your memory, sitting in an airplane, drinking a cocktail and being waited on to get to a show does not count! 😆

Don’t be bashful! It’s time for all Road Scholars to report in! :D

I’ll go first. I only made it to two shows this year, traveled about 600 miles in 3 states. 😳 Not a stellar year for me. 😆

I was just listening to Circus on the Moon and realized something. I keep waiting for Bruce to hit his piano solo, but for some reason he never does. On the other hand, Bruce does something I’ve never heard him do before. At the end of the song, he does an “around the horn” thing with the Noisemakers. The progression is Bruce>JT>Doug>JV>Sonny>Bobby>Bruce.
They do that several times and each time makes it more difficult for the next to know when to jump in. 8)

Check it out! Anybody else hear that? 8)

I can’t help but think what I heard Doug say one time. “Bruce loves to entertain the band as we play. Our job is to ‘watch Bruce’ because we never know what he is going to throw us.” I can see that here! 8)

David Rich is right! Don’t be afraid to use a capo!

Another piece of advice is to learn some bar chords. Start with an E chord. Use your first finger, the one next to your thumb, and use that as a capo. Use your other fingers to form an E chord as you slide you hand down the neck from fret to fret. One you learn that, you have just learned many chords and can learn many variations! 8)

As far as Halcyon Days, it can’t be that hard. If you or Dave Rich don’t get it picked out by this weekend, I’ll try to pick it out for you. Just let me know. :D

Dave Rich is better than me, but I was playing when he was in diapers! 😉
