ParticipantAfter much confusion, you can purchase tickets by calling 888-397-3100. They are not available online at this time.
As a point of information, the show will be at the Dana Auditorium at Guilford College not Greensboro Coliseum. It turns out the Eastern Music Festival’s box office is at the Greensboro Coliseum.
A little warning that ticket prices are almost double of what they are at Boone. I don’t know why.
Look at it this way. If you average the price of Greensboro and Boone together, you got a good deal!

ParticipantHotels are kinda pricey, but considered “high season” for the area. As far as your other question about whether it is a solo show or Noisemakers show, I’ll let Vic tell you about the Atlanta “solo” show last year. I’m a telling ya!
I going to stick to my story and say it will be special either way! ❗
You don’t want to miss it! ❗

ParticipantBoone Meetup & Hotels
I found a great local spot for our meetup! It is across the street from campus and easy walking distance to the venue and called Cafe Portofino.
Check out http://www.cafeportofino.net.As far as hotels, the Red Carpet Inn & the Scottish Inn are the least expensive I’ve found. They are next door to each other and about 2 blocks from campus. (If you make reservations at the Scottish Inn, mention “Hornsby” and receive a 10% discount.)
Check them out at http://www.boonelodging.com.Another option, but a little more expensive is the Broyhill Inn. I’m told it is on campus and thus close to the venue and Cafe Portofino. It is a local inn and top of a hill with great views of town and the mountains.
Check them out at http://www.broyhillinn.com.If anybody wants to “rough it”, the Blueridge Parkway is only a couple miles from town with plenty of camping. Make sure you call the Park Service for reservations. They will be full in the summer.
There it is! A lot of stuff for you to digest! I will fill you in with more details about our meetup as we get closer.
Bruuuce!

Victor wrote:If you like to sit close, you’d better order your tickets by phone. Closest I could get online was Row N, but David said he got front row by calling the auditorium.
And yes, tickets are $21 for floor and $18 for balcony — very reasonable!
Where’s the meetup and hotel headquarters, DD? Hope to get to meet all these great new contributors to the site at Boone!Soon come!
I’ve found a great local place for the meetup and need to check with a couple more local (non-chain) hotels.
It would be great to meet the new contributors!

ParticipantAccording to the statistics, this is post #300 for me. I’ve been saving this one for A Prediction From A Road Scholar.
I don’t know what title, if any, Si will bestow on me for post #300. I’ve been “Talk of the Town”, “King of the Hill”, and recently “Road Scholar”. Maybe I should be “King Blabber Mouth”. That would probably sum everthing up including Spartanburg. 😳 What do you think?
As we have discussed, Bruce has had many peaks. The most recent being just this week with being #1 Bluegrass Record with Ricky Skaggs. Congratulations Bruce! Bruuuce! But, has Bruce hit “the peak”?
:
My Prediction From A Road Scholar is that “the peak” is yet to come! ❗ It’s not the bluegrass thing with Rick Skaggs even though that peak will probably last with this year’s tour. “The peak” will come later when the bluegrass thing wears and Bruce really gets into jazz! ❗
There is so much to say here, but will save for another time. In a nutshell that is my Prediction From A Road Scholar. “The peak” for Bruce will come with jazz! It is his calling and destiny! What do you think?
:
Happy #300 to everyone! Thanks for your interest, your thoughts and for putting up with me! Maybe “King Blabber Mouth” would be a good title for me afterall! ❗ 😆

ParticipantTwo Hand Independence!
David Day wrote:daverich wrote:When i first started I found it easier to kinda bob up and down to the tempo of the left hand – it kinda keeps it going easier, and then just forget about the left hand whilst playing other stuff on the right, after a while it’s just a matter of locking the different patterns in and then forgetting about them – leaving you to concentrate on showing offSince you’re left handed, maybe it’s easier for you since you can “forget about the left hand.”
What about you other pianists?
Are you left handed or right handed? Do you think it’s easier being left or right handed to play two hand independece?I want to keep this thread open. I’ve received many e-mails from people who have expressed their interest on this. I really have! There are still many unanswered questions. At least I know there are other people who thinks it is fascinating besides me!
(I find it interesting that there are some who are shy and don’t want to post on the forum. They send me an e-mail trying to plod me along. Come on guys! Don’t be bashful! Your thoughts are wanted! I quess they know I’m the idiot and blabber mouth on the forum and will ask anything.)(There I go blabbering again!)
How about it pianists? Please give us more details! Do you think it is easier being left or right handed or does it matter?
I promise I’ll ask just have one more question after this one.
