Keep us posted on this new venture!

Then…..It was decided to have a bruuuce calling contest! Get the picture! Some very professional type people, both males and females alike, yelling bruuuce from the top of a houseboat! It was halarious! :D

Not to worry!…..You can sleep well at night knowing that the “C of B” won that contest handsdown! 😆

Meanwhile, back at the ranch……The decision has been made for me that there must will be “tryouts” for bruuuuce! The first “tryouts” will be this Sunday afternoon on “the island”! 😆 Can’t wait to see what is in stored for me! 😆

On the other hand……I’ve made the decision that lady bruuuuce has to have three characteristics!
    a. bruuuce needs to be a “water dog”! Be able to swim and fetch a ball!
    b. bruuuce needs to be able come out of the water, shake herself off while singing Across the River!
    c. And…..bruuuce needs to be able to serve me a Long Tall Cool One while playing piano! 😆
That’s not too much to ask! Now is it? 😆

That poor dawg! I’ll probably be yelling bruuuce in my sleep! 😆

I’ll let you know how it goes! I’m getting a “warm and fuzzy” feeling over it! We may finally have a “mascot”! 😆

    Still havin’ a ball! :D

Get the picture! 😆 That was the general concensus of the topic of conversation! We were all “belly laughing” over this! It was really funny! 😆

My “friends” all made the decision that it is time for me to get another dawg……And, it has to be a female dawg named Bruuuce! 😆

And yes…..Bruuuce could go with me to all the shows! 😆

What can I say? 😆 I have taken it under “advisement”! 😆

I just have to post this as a Thought From a Road Scholar! 😆

Normally, my Thoughts From A Road Scholar attempts to “engage” you in some form, shape or fashion, but…..Over this Labor Day weekend, I have been “engaged”! Something for me to think about, contemplate, consider, something that I think you will find funny, but……Something that did make a little bit of sense to me! 😆

I was at a party and it was suggested that it’s time for me to get another dawg! Everyone chimed in and the consensus was……I should get a dawg and name it Bruuuce! 😆 That way……I could always be yelling “Bruuuce”! 😆 Stay in practice if you would! 😆

The funny thing about it is…..I’m actually considering it! 😆 I could wake up in the morning yelling for Bruuuce! I could drive my neighbors crazy yelling for Bruuuce! I could keep everyone one up at night yelling for Bruuuce! 😆 Think about the opportunites! 😆

It does make sense to me! 8-) When I can’t find a date for a show…….There would always be Bruuuce! 😆

    What do you thing? :?:

Why the short set? Was there some Candy Mountain Rain?

Hey OSCAR! Thank you for your reply and interest! 8-)

No…..There was no “Candy Mountain Rain”! It turned out to be a beautiful evening just like Biltmore! :D Seems you don’t understand “Dreadlock Dave’s” humor!

You see……Long time ago, way back when, it became my “fudicary duty” to yell out either Tango King or Candy Mountain Run when Bruce doesnt’ know what the crowd wants to hear. Chastain has always been a different type of crowd versus the crowd that Bruce likes at Biltmore.

Get the picture……There are tables in front of the stage at Chastain where “season subscribers” sit with their wine, cheese, catered food and candles. They are at the show more for the “social event” than to hear Bruce. Bruce normally doesn’t know what to play, there are usually no reguest and Bruce always seems “uncomfortable” at what to play to appease this “wine & cheese” crowd! To understand what happened at Chastian, you have to understand what happened the night before at Biltmore…..

At Biltmore the night before, I had the opportunity to “preach” to some of the Nosiemakers about, “please don’t make Chastain a ‘soft show’ as you usually do”!…..Seems they took my advice!

Bruce for once, actually came out, engaging the crowd, throwing grapes at this “wine & cheese” crowd and begin playing his a$$ off! At the end of the third song, I yelled out “Tango King”. He looked at me and asked me to say it again. Then he said, “Your wish is my command!” 8-)

As his set ended and he was way past his 90 minute allotment, he stood up to leave to let Bella play. I yelled out “Candy Mountain Run” and Bruce said……”What the hell” and went back to his piano and played it! 8-)

The crowd looked at me with amazement, but at the end, I was able to fulfill my fiduciary duty! :D

There were many, many more songs and Bruce did go way past his time allotment, but it was the best Chastain show ever in the 14 times that Bruce has been there! :D I didn’t write them all down, but Bruce did not play anything he played the night before at Biltmore, but Bird Land, which was Burce’s and Bella’s encore. He didn’t even play the bluegrass version of The Way It Is…..

Thanks for asking! Hopefully, you now get the picture! 😆

I’ve been to a lot of shows, but…..There’s always something “special” about Biltmore!

It could be the fact that the venue is “drop dead gorgeous”, there is no “curfew” and Bruce can play forever if he chooses or the fact that Bruce says that it’s one of his favorite venues.

Whatever the reason…..There seems to always be some form of “energy” that draws me there, time and time again!

There is no way to explain it! There is no way to rationalize it! It seems the “white witch” of Biltmore likes Bruce too! Unless you’ve been there, you have no idea to what I’m saying!

    But……Whatever it is……

My tires are dutifully rotated and my oil dutifully changed! It’s a “calling” that I can’t seem to know how to explain, but for whatever reason…..I hear the Biltmore “call” once again!

Re: An Interesting Review About The Recent Salt Lake City Sh

    Hey guys!

Don’t get your panties in a wad over this! It’s obvious that this “journalist” had never been to a Bruce show before and doesn’t know how Bruce does his “business”! I just happened to be in the vacinity of SLC at the time and……Bruce shined! He really did! He was just being his usual self and playing all the request that everyone wanted him to play! Seems no one at the show knew any of his “B” sides” so…..Bruce had a “soft” show of hits and covers that everyone was requesting. The crowd loved it and he, as usual, was just playing into the crowd.

Remember……That article is just one person’s opinion who is probably “brain damaged”, in “right field” and probably a “jack mormon”! If you want to read some “reality” about Bruce and Bela, check out Megan’s writings on FB concerning the Washington show.

And yes, Bruce and Bela are “trading places” as the opening act. Looks like Bela will open at Biltmore and Bruce will open at Chastain.

I say all that to say……It’s a great show and you don’t want to miss it! No matter who opens!

    In the mean time……

From the whatever it’s worth department, for whatever it’s worth……

I don’t know if this is “cast in stone”, but…..Whoever has the “top bill” usually does not open. At Biltmore, it’s Bruce and Bella which means usually Bella will open. The next night at Chastain, it’s Bella and Bruce which usually means Bruce will open.

I’m sure that no matter who opens…..There will probably be a party at the end! :D
