I’ve been to two concerts at the Red Butte Gardens, Bruce and the Noisemakers in the summer of 2005, and in 2003 (or was it 2004?) we went to Bela Fleck. Not to be rude to Bela or Mr. Wooten or anything, but Bruuuce and the band are by far the best musicians out there.

I taught gymnastics that summer, and a few days before Bruce’s concert I dove to catch one of my gymnasts (we were tumbling down a hill at the park) and herniated a disc in my back. So, I was down flat the day before, but the next day I hiked up that hill for Bruce, and let me tell you it was worth it. They all rocked the house. I was instantly cured (well, at least for the night). Bruce even played my request End of the Innocence

The Red Butte is a great place for a concert because it’s cozy and comfortable and actually quite intimate – you feel like you are quite close to the performers. I think it’s one of the best places in Utah to see and hear live music. Everyone should come! August 19th ’07 – it’s going to be the BEST!

Check out JVs’ diary – he likes SLC- he says “we’re off the chain”.
