Wassup? What happened? Please post more info on the cancelled Europe tour when you can.

So glad I hadn’t made flight reservations! I spent a week on the West Coast because I didn’t get the message for those cancelled shows until I turned on my phone after landing in CA.

Sending wishes for health, peace and joy to Bruce, friends and family. And looking forward to more news.

Did y’all see the NY Times short review of “Levitate” from Jon Pareles?

    “BRUCE HORNSBY AND THE NOISEMAKERS
History meets hoedowns, and modernism visits the roadhouse in Bruce Hornsby’s music, which treats Americana as the broadest possible canvas. The songs on his new album “Levitate,” can be as rootsy as Mr. Hornsby’s accordion and dulcimer and as contemporary as a programmed drumbeat. Material from “Levitate” is the basis for a prospective Broadway show, “SCKBSTD,” that will have to be pretty cosmic to match the album. Tuesday. Verve Forecast. (J. P.)”

J.P. GETS da’ man. Hoorah! Hooray!

    Great!

I’ll get 7 tickets and we’ll meet-up then or later. I’ll have on the baby-blue shirt that Bryan got for last year’s non-gig. I’m taking a back-pack and shawl to hold some seats < Steinway side.

They will sell multiple wristbands because I originally thought I needed one for each show so bought 2 for tonight. They took one back when I discovered I needed only one for the whole day.

Would you like me to pick up an extra then meet up tomorrow?

It’s real easy to get wrist bands – at the City Hall Stage. My phone is 978-726-6655 & e-mail lizbethup@earthlink.net so call, mail or text me if you want me to pick up wrist bands when I get mine around noon.

    Where are you staying?

I’m heading to check out the opening acts, but will be back @ the Crowne between 8-9. See you then.

OK – I’ve been out for recognizance.

The wrist pass for City Hall Stage is for the entire day of shows = $3.00 for seats for all music tomorrow from 3:30 to whenever Bruce and buddies quit. What a bargain! The opening act tomorrow is Robbin Thompson – familiar to anyone?

Liz is the name of the woman in charge of sales for the big stage (though it’s pretty small) and she says she’ll be at the CH Stage by noon to sell tickets/wristbands. Maybe she’ll let us not only buy tickets early but also put shirts or jackets on the folding chairs lined up closely together – but also close to the stage.

I’m in the Crowne Plaza hotel – room 207. But they gave me a wrist band to allow me access to the elevator after 4:30 pm today & through the weekend. I assume they let me bring someone else up to my room for a bit…but I didn’t ask. Tonight it would be fine to meet down in this area, for this is close to the bars and food. But the CH Stage is a few long blocks N of the hotel, so it may be easier to meet tomorrow by the stage. I’ll be there early to get the band and a good seat to see the keyboard.

There are tons of booths selling a variety of food and a big beer truck along Queens Way plus a good number of actual restaurants, so if anyone who wants to meet up tonight, I’m certain we could eat and drink. Give a call if you want to meet – 978-726-6655

I’m staying @ the Crowne Plaza – so naturally I think making that the meet-up place is a great idea!

My phone is 978-726-6655 and I’ll be in the area by 2 or 3 pm, so we can use me as a clearing house for info. Si, you can call that # and I’ll fill you in on information.

Wow! I just checked the location of McFadden’s and see that it’s 3.5 miles from my hotel downtown. I’m not renting a car at the airport – so you can take me off the list of people joining up Friday night. I’ll walk down the road from the hotel, have a beer and toast y’all.

And then see everyone at the concerts on Sat!

Definitely like the idea of $5 Gold seats! Reserving the table @ McFadden’s is great if we’re done in plenty of time. I want to be down front and dirty ASAP.

Hi to the Gang of Hornsby Heads in Hampton!

I’ve booked a room with 2 beds at the Crowne Plaza – nearest hotel to the venue I’m told. The friend for one queen bed couldn’t come, so it’s available for anyone to split the room.

I come in Friday noon, so we could meet up there any time and use it as home base – keep supplies or take a break.

lizbethup@earthlink.net will get me on Blackberry or computer.

I am SO looking forward to back to back shows!

David Day wrote PS Liz, thanks for “checking in”, finally! I thought that was you all along. The infamous “Liz” who was the “bus driver” for daverich. I’ve seen you at several shows. In fact, I don’t know if you remember, but you came down and sat by me at the Greensboro solo show. You told me about all your travels with Bruce…..Something you need to share with us more often!

    Hi, David,
Sorry. I remember you now from Greensboro, but I didn’t connect you to the hat. Also have spent little time chatting. I’ve been so busy trying to “catch up” with Bruce’s music and understanding it that there didn’t seem time. Since August, 2006 I’ve been to 45 shows, so I’m getting a bit more comfortable and look forward to more chats and conversations.
Also, I spent nearly all of 2008 traveling, so had little chat time for any of my interests. See you in July?!

Thanks! I did forget “Spider Fingers>Tempus Fugit>The Good Life” – but just put Good Life as a separte song. He was trying to conserve time and give us a full show within the limitations. And “Sun.Cat>Train To Cry>Cat” I knew there was a transition, but I didn’t write it down. Thanks.

Great show! Bruce stretched the 60 allotted minutes into 100. BRH gave a great show in spite of the restrictions. Thanks, Bruce!

Levitate? > Big Rock Candy Mtn > Candy Mtn Run 4.Valley Road 5.Spider Fingers 6.The Good Life 7.Down The Road Tonight 8.End of the Innocence (Accordion)9. Evangeline 10.Big Stick (Piano)11.Fortunate Son>Comfortable Numb>Fortunate Son 12.The Way It Is 13.Sunflower Cat
Encores:Big Rumble, Mandolin Rain, Standing On The Moon, Halcyon Days without a break to give us more.
Moyes Lucas drums and Bobby great together – especially on Valley Road. Five-fingered exercises and central riff on The Way It Is solo piano were chill-makers. New song (3) fits with 2 other new ones: Here We Are Again and Continents Drift – together in SCKBSTRD?
