Hey MVF
We’re just gonna have to wait until you hit that jackpot so you can make your way to Denver for a show as well.In the mean-time, say hi to the Biltmo’ for me. That was so much fun meeting everyone last time and doing a Polish rain dance hoping that storm would pass through. It worked.

Molo3, tell Karen there is no charge for the jumping-out-of-a-cake. It’s included with the dance on the table. Just make sure the table is firm.
Oh, lovely…..bbq crap along with something you’re going to trap. Hey, that rhymed. Now that I think about it, I’ll just leave the house for the wknd and you all can just stay there. That way no one has to watch anyone sleep. ha
Come on by anytime….just make sure I have at least my burlap on.

Gee, you don’t forget a thing, now do you?? Since it’s your b’day, then you just HAVE to come out for the Denver show. I could even jump out of your b’day cake if Karen doesn’t mind. 😯 And of course the invite still stands; you and Karen can actually stay in the guest bdrm.
That damn jet of mine…..still working on the mechanics of it. 😡 It’s amazing how long things take when you want your jet fixed.SMP

DAvid, and you wonder why Vic got on the “list” and you didn’t. 😆 Ya, I got your 660 count sheets alright along with the FRench soaps. oh wait, those would be Polish soaps since I’m 137% Polish.
The shed has french-style doors so you’ll be livin’ it up. Come on by…..shed doors are always open.

Well, I knew Victor was coming because he got the first invite but I didn’t realize he was bringing a penpal.
Since you’re coming now, I guess I really need to make sure my burlap is order. Hey, I say the more the MARYier.
I’m only 15 minutes from the venue so swing on by. I’ll have the shed doors open in the backyard to welcome you. I know, I’m all heart. While you have southern hospitality, we have mtn hospitality. In other words, you’re sleeping outdoors.SMP

Hey Molo3 and gang
My Biltmore burlap is on backorder (say that 3 times fast) so I won’t be attending the Aug show. I’m not a bluegrass fan so didn’t want to spend that kind of money to have to split my time with Bruce. Besides, he’s coming here at the end of July (yippee for me) so I’ll get to see him then!! He’ll be playing only 15 minutes from my house and even though Bela will also be there, I can’t miss seeing Bruce and band since he’ll be so close!!
HOpefully I’ll catch you all on the flip side.

tell Karen I said hello.

ParticipantHey Monica
So glad you’re back on the road to recovery. Hopefully our sick humor enlightened you on your darkest days. Just go one day at a time and before you know it, you should be back dancing on the tables like myself.
I won’t be in TX for any of the shows but perhaps we’ll catch up this year at another show. Have fun at the show!!Stay well, my friend.
Marymary
ParticipantWell, let’s just leave David and Molo3 out of it as I love Snoopy so “Flying Ace” works for me.
Jackie, one of these days I’m going to meet you and yes, that is a threat. ha

mary
ParticipantHey, now I like “Flying Ace” although I’m sure David and Molo3 will translate that into another term or two. 😆 Jackie, you left that one wiiiiiiiiiide open. 😮
And a few things to point out in my favor:
Since our airport in Denver is basically in Kansas, you need to tack on an extra 45 minutes just to drive to the flippin’ airport.
The other thing is I always allow myself 1 1/2 hours to get through security just in case I like the pat-down I can go back for more. Now that’s something DAvid would say.
And lastly, the handle on my luggage got broken while in transit so I think that adds in for a few points right there.Kat is right, it did take me longer door to door…about 11 hours worth. Double up the points yet again.
It’s nice to know I’m amongst friends.
DAvid is so right (that killed me to say that) in that if we didn’t give each other crap, we’d wonder what was wrong with one another.

ParticipantAnd don’t ever forget who’s holding the bat!! 😆 I think I have one up on you.
mary
ParticipantWhere’s that blasted bat when I need it!!! 😆 Excuse me, flying all day, changing planes in Atlanta, etc, doesn’t count as a “Road Warrior??” Geez, what does it take?? I could’ve changed the oil on the plane but security might have questioned that. Kind of like Bruce’s security questioning me. 😮 DAvid, as hard as it is to say, we did miss your sorry ass. We fell short on using the bat. 😈
Bryan, thanks for spotting me out. As Bruce knows, I’m not one to hide and be shy. Bryan, please tell me you weren’t there when I was there as I would’ve loved to have met you. Don’t make me get the bat.

ParticipantWhat on earth was I thinking?? Of course you guys have my # since you wrote it on the walls at the Biltmo’!!
Unfortunately, Mr. DAvid P. Day couldn’t make it so I had to hold up his end. That doesn’t sound quite right.
I was at both the rehearsal and preview and at both of them, it was a much older crowd. Now at the rehearsal, there were just a few people since they weren’t really advertising it. The first preview was pretty much a packed house. I’m not sure if people who support the Theatre got free seats and that’s why it was an older crowd or why it was. I was by far one of the youngest there (hold your wise-cracks Molo3 and DAvid) even at the ripe old age of 49. I’m interested to hear what the average age is for these 3 weeks because I wasn’t expecting an older crowd.I loved the musical. I think they did a great job at acting because it caught me in tears a few times. The only one that I felt could’ve been stronger was the lead actor – the Dr. He could’ve gave it more oomph. It was interesting to see how they acted out the songs or where they fit them into the musical. The “Where’s the Bat” song was priceless. Now on that one, I had tears because of laughing so damn hard. The acting between the two “mom’s” was incredible. I think going forward, when I hear the songs from the musical with Bruce playing them in a concert, I will always go back to that musical and think of the scene. They also did a great version of “Black Rats” set at a school setting. What I really enjoyed was the computer graphics for the backdrop. The musical had moving parts and all like windows and such but the backdrop was just very interesting as I had never seen anything like it before. The engine noise of the car was really cool with its headlights popping up in the background. It gave you the heebie-jeebies wondering who is this weirdo in town. Two high school-age kids did “Invisible” and they also did a very good job. Besides “Cont Drift” bringing me to tears just because it always does because I think back to R.S. and his solo, the other song that brought me to tears was “Here We Are Again.” Listening to it on the cd, I never felt that way but seeing how it was performed in the musical put a whole new meaning to it.
The 4 piece band was set up on stage in the back. Here I was thinking they’d be in a pit but there was no such thing. The theatre is very old (holds 600) and just gave you a very home-town feel to it. It wasn’t a distraction at all and in fact, I liked being able to see them play.
That’s about it without giving details away for others that are still going to see it. Since it’s playing for 3 weeks, not certain how the crowds will be but the Tues preview that I was at seemed to really enjoy it with a standing ovation at the end.Mary

ParticipantVirginia, I was with Kat waiting for you in Norfolk when you were having plane issues. We felt so bad for you. Could you please email me at mcockshoot@wildbluecorp.com?? David and Molo3, no heavy breathing please. That’s one reason I didn’t give out my phone #. 😆

WOW is right!! Thanks AMP for your wonderful review. Your descriptions of the songs made me feel like I was there!! I will be there on the 18th with Kat and now my heart is really pumping with excitement for all what you had to say. How fun for all of us able to attend!!

ParticipantWell Jackie and I will get on the horn and get down to VA just for the bbq squirrel and bbq brussel sprouts. Who needs a nice comforting turkey dinner with dressing, mashed potatoes and all the fixin’s (trying to sound southern there) when we can have that!! 😡
David, your One Kat, Two SMP’s and Three Twining’s sounded like “three turtle doves, 2 french hens and a patri-idge in a pear tree.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving…minus the bbq squirrel and brussel sprouts. ewwwwwww

ParticipantWhoa, Whoa, Whoa now, since when does David run this joint??
Since Kat and I, along with Si (sounds like a Dr. Suess poem), will be in town for Tuesday’s show, I’m thinking that’s when the main event should take place. DAvid, put the squirrel gun down, change your plans and get to VA for that Tuesday. You won’t be disappointed.
Jackie, I love how you volunteered to put in more hours just to save my carcass.
And no southern BBQ for me. Like DAvid said, we keep our distance. The bbq that is. Maybe I should try that with David too!! 😆
Si, looking forward to meeting you on that Tues. I just booked my airfare. You can try running and hiding but just ask anyone, I’ll find you.

ParticipantI just thought of another thing: if you guys don’t bail me out of the slammer until Fri or SAt, I guess I will get to meet up with you both after all. 😆 See, you gotta think of things ahead of time.

ParticipantMonica, I knew you’d come to my rescue.
Had I been going for Fri night, I would’ve taken you up on your free ticket but the Pollack in me ready the “opening date” wrong. That’s very nice of you to offer.

ParticipantJackie, you can be sure we will warn Norfolk about the upcoming group but that’s if we don’t get arrested first.
Hey, it’s probably a good idea that you’re coming after us; just in case we do get arrested, you can bail our dupas out.
DAvid, you never fail to crack me up. No wonder we get along so well – we’re both “poo-bah’s” in our own little world.
Can’t wait to meet Squmsqum. Oh boy, Lord help us all.
