Okay, I’ve got MY ticket, and I think I’ve talked David into showing up, and I’ve got a local hook-up with Michael from Charlotte….
Who else is coming to SC???? 8)

in reply to: Louisville solo – Oct. 8 #26970

    Victor,
Please, please, please come to Spartanburg!!!!

in reply to: Looking for the 8/13/06 Charlotte Show #26900

    Dan,
I wasn’t the initial asker, but I would love to get a copy of the Charlotte show. I am the “Teresa” that sent the bear up to Bruce asking, “Please let Teresa dance on stage”. I have another Teddy Bear with a “Bruuuce.Complete Fanatic” on it, that has been signed by the whole band. Also, if anyone has a picture of me dancing on stage (I was wearing the ’88 keys, 10 fingers, no problem’ T-shirt) I would love to get a copy. For some strange reason, the people around here don’t believe I actually danced on stage with Bruce. 🙄
    Email me at mailto:teresa_richardson@abss.k12.nc.us

Okay, Si Twi, it’s all up to you now! I have posted my Pen Pic. Where’s David’s??????? Lola?????? Jackie??????? How about my Charlotte buddy who gave me that front row ticket for my birthday two years ago at The Ovens??????

Hey, and Victor, just read yours… had a major, major flashback moment when you mentioned the Cas Walker radio show. All of my daddy’s people are from Scott County, TN, and I remember watching the Cas Walker show (and commercials) every time we went to Granny’s house. What a blast from the past!!!

Jackie, I was really counting on meeting up with you in SC for a good, old fashioned slumber party. Oh well. Guess I’ll just have to pillow-fight Victor, Lola, and David by myself………………… 😉

in reply to: Louisville solo – Oct. 8 #26952

Oh, man!!!! Am I green with envy!! Lola, you know, I’ve always wanted to be Victor’s ball handler, but I’m glad you were able to stand in. 😉
I’m still slated to travel to that Hornsby mecca – Williamsburg— this weekend. I think I’ve scored a lunch date with Mama Hornsby at the Blue Talon. I’ll let you know if I pick up any juicy tidbits.
Spartanburg…..I’m almost positive that it is a definite maybe. Jackie, if you can’t talk your husband into chauffeuring you to the concert, let me know. I’m thinking maybe an overnighter (I have that Monday off school). Anybody else game??? Maybe we can make this one big Bruce Slumber Party!!!! David, Victor, Lola, Molomolomolo, you are definitely invited, too!!! 😈

in reply to: Louisville solo – Oct. 8 #26947

    Bad news, guys. :(
For reasons that I can’t even begin to go into, I have to be back at work bright and early Monday morning. Since the commute time from Podunk, NC to Louaahhville,KY is something like 6-7 hours, there’s just no way I can hump it back in time. 😥
Good news is that I will be in Williamsburg, VA Oct. 12-15, and I’m going to try to stop in and say hey to Mama Hornsby. And I’m still gonna try for the Spartanburg show. No bowling, but maybe a few friends.

in reply to: Louisville solo – Oct. 8 #26935

    David,
Sorry to hear about Mom. We’ll keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

in reply to: Who was your first gig? #26990

    I can beat that, Treah.
My first concert was Chicago at the Norfolk, VA Scope in October 1976. I still have the ticket stub. It cost $6.25.

in reply to: Louisville solo – Oct. 8 #26932

Okay, this is starting to sound like an event not to be missed.
Roll call, please, of who all are going.
Mommy and Daddy live in Scott County, TN, and little brother lives in Williamsburg, KY, so I think I may just have to check out this little shindig.
AND I usually bowl around 175.
AND I drink my Maker’s Mark straight.

in reply to: Virginia Road Trip #27018

Oh, I thought Spartanburg was a “no go”. What was the date again???? I’m getting quite intrigued about meeting this handsome stranger!!!! 😆

in reply to: Put a face to the name! #27015

    😳
Okay Si Twi, but exactly WHICH button is that???? I don’t see one that says email….. (I told you I am inept!)
    😳

in reply to: Put a face to the name! #27013

I’m game, but how do I go about it??? I’m not overly “computer savvy”.
Or, as my 22-year-old college son says, “Mom, drag your butt into THIS century!!”

Okay, nobody panic here, but I can’t quite lay my hands on those pictures AT THE MOMENT…. I’m still looking. And I know I don’t have the negatives. But I DO know I snail-mailed copies of them to Si Twi over a year ago. I remember making a comment about George Marinelli’s “big hair”, and Si said I better be careful, because he was a good friend of George’s. Si……do YOU still have those copies????? and if so………POST THEM!!!!!!!!!

On another note…. anybody up for a road trip to Virginia the weekend of November 3, 4, 5??? Bruce will be playing solo shows in Richmond on one night, and in Norfolk on another. I will volunteer to be the “travel agent” for the gig….you know, seeing about group discounts for motel room(s), concert seating together, etc. Williamsburg is the halfway point between, and that’s Bruce’s turf. Who knows?? If we get enough of a group together, maybe he’ll meet us for lunch or something??????? I’m game!!!!

    Hey, Treah….
I keep trying to send you a “”private message””, but it keeps saying that you are “ignoring” me. Was it something I said??????? Or can I not manipulate the computer as well as I thought????

Hey, do you think they will let Bruce play that big ole’ Wurltzer they have at the Byrd???? THAT would be well worth the price of admission!!

in reply to: Thoughts From A Road Scholar! #29146

Oh, and by the way, no, I was NOT in diapers in 1989, thank you very much. In fact, my SON was in kindergarten in 1989. 😯

Well…….here’s the problem. I only have “hard copies” of the pictures. They are not digital, and I don’t have a way to put them on the computer. So……Mr. David Day, if I sent you copies of the pictures, would you have a way to put them online??? I feel like such a dinosaur, not being digital and all.

I first heard this song in concert at William and Mary Hall in 1989, when it was Bruce and the Range…. he got a bunch of his “good ole’ boys” to come prancin’ out on the stage like politicians…..some musician I don’t know was dressed like a biker and played a mean harmonica solo on his knees in front of Bruce (on the accordian)…I have pictures of THAT…..Molo sat on the edge of the drum stage and picked out “The Star Spangled Banner” on the guitar at the tail end of the song…..it was a beautiful moment.

How about “Best on stage dancing”?
    “Oldest fan”?
“”Fan who isn’t old, but goes way, way back”??

in reply to: Thoughts From A Road Scholar! #26799

Ooops! That wasn’t me! I was the red-head at the front of the line (where else??) with the Teddy Bear in the Bruuuce.com T-Shirt, trying to get band members to sign the bear’s shirt, drinking Biltomo’ wine out of a sippy-cup, and just being over-all obnoxious. Are you headed to any more shows in the line-up???? Oh, oh, oh, by the way, you missed the all-time best request played at the Charlotte show. About the third or fourth song of the show, Bruce started his spiel about how most of ya’ll probably don’t know what the h*** songs we’re playing up here so far….but we do take requests. I yelled out “Way It Is”, and he said “Yeah, like that”. Then I yelled “Freebird”. He laughed, and sang a few lines of “Way It Is” to the tune of “Freebird”. Don’t hear THAT at every concert!!!!
