ParticipantHey, c’mon now…. bring me up to date on all the juicy gossip. So far, this hasn’t even been worth chewing through the restraints for……
MVF
ParticipantLooks like I made a return just in time….WHEN is this blessed event?????????
MVF
ParticipantWell, first of all, he could bail ME out! I’ve lost about $30,00 in my retirement due to the stock market and the banks. That means many, MANY more years of teaching little snot-nosed kids. I feel I have invested quite a bit of time and money in Mr. Hornsby — concert tickets, travel, CDs, T-shirts, etc. Although , truth be told, I believe the dividends that my Bruce-investment have paid through the years has been well worth it. In fact, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had with my clothes on. 😆
(okay, Mr. Willis, go ahead and say it…..)
By the way, do you know how hard it is to type with a broken finger?????

Lake Lanier, GAWell, that explains SOOOO much!
No more meds for you.
It’s hard to be a Prozac Baby once you’ve visited the Opium Den………….MVF

Participant“Wet Dreads”??????
Oh, and Mr. DPD has been one of MY students all his life, ’cause I taught him everything he knows!!!!
Now, Mr. Dave. you come on back across the pond, and I’ll teach YOU a thing or two about “old school” ways. I’ve been working the past week as a Colonial American Reenactor at Alamance Battleground. We hold a Colonial Living Week for the local school children. In the past two days, I’ve seen over 800 students. So, ( since most of these kids think I actually TAUGHT back in Colonial times) I know pretty much all there is to know about teaching, old school, AND giving spankings.
So there.
MVF
ParticipantOh, I’ll show you some “storm damage”!!!!!
MVF
ParticipantBravissimo!!!!
It was ALMOST like we had all gotten together, anyway. And, believe me, we WILL all get together in one place…..with no hurricane…….with Bruce………AND the Noisemakers (JV has promised me a dance)……..with our great big dysfunctional family….. in one place. Face it, the stars and planets HAVE to converge again. And, anyway, I haven’t seen my nemesis DPD in person for so long, I’m beginning to think he really DOES wear those ‘dreads. Please forgive the ramblin’ on…..I’ve just gone through a week of conferences with the moms and dads of the sixteen little darlings/hellions/devil’s spawn that I am teaching this year. I’m just glad to have “family” on whom I can vent, and they won’t think any less of me (DON’T say it, David!!!).MVF
ParticipantIt is SO good to hear from you, Si. We’ve sorely missed your guiding words and biting wit. Now I have someone else to help me keep Mr. DPD in check. 😆 😆 😆
MVF
ParticipantHa ha ha….Yeah, you guys are a riot!!!! Bruce helping to pay tribute to M. Jackson, that’s the best one I’ve heard all day.
No, really, what is this all about?????
MVF
ParticipantI thought it was going to Dawgs! 😉
MVF
ParticipantAARRGGG!!!!!!!!! So, on behalf of the 98% of the Forum who are NOT in the know….
WHAT!!!!!!!
MVF
ParticipantYou know how you can hear a song, and then it gets stuck in your head for the rest of the day??? Well, imagine trying to focus on teaching 16 first graders while “Eat Your Fred” keeps playing over and over in your mind. Not to mention the fact tthat I tend to hum, and “White Rabbit” may not be the most appropriate tune for my students to be hearing. Oh well. It beats “Froggy Went a Courtin'”…………..

ParticipantDavid Day wrote:Would someone plez remind me what MVF stands for? 😆 😆 😆It stands for Most Valuable Farmaceuticals, and don’t you forget it, buster!! 😉 😉
And yes, I did finally get to the post office today. There are, as we speak, packages going to Greensboro, Hampton, Georgia, and Texas. Let me know when you receive them. I just hope I got the right stuff in the right packages. David, don’t be disappointd because your package doesn’t rattle……I’ll send your next batch of “f”armaceuticals at a later date.

ParticipantI would like to help out. Monica, could you find out if there is a school or shelter that needs supplies, etc. I would like to have my class of first graders take this on as a community service project. We probably won’t be able to help much in the money department, but we would like to send cards and letters to help cheer the people up….especially the kids. And right now, my classroom is filled chock-a-block full of school supplies left over from last year. If you could get me a name and phone number of someone connected with the Relief Program, I can take it from there.
Your shirt and bracelets will be in the mail as soon as I get out of school this afternoon. Sorry I didn’t get it there in time for the birthday party. By the way, I think we are ALL curious to know what you had planned for the Noisemaker-themed birthday party.

ParticipantOkay, everybody who is wearing their new Bay Days Bruuuce.com shirt, raise your hand!! Bryan, you done good!!! I plan to wear mine to whatever the next concert is that I attend (I hope it’s soon!). Thank you again for going to all the trouble. Perhaps you could auction off the spares?? Give them as prizes in a Bruuuce.com trivia contest?? Send one to Bruce????? Oh, how cool would it be to see him wear THAT at his next concert?!?!
MVF
ParticipantMonica,
Please let us know how you fared. We are thinking of you. I tried looking up your town on a map, but couldn’t find it ( for the record, I couldn’t find MY town, either). I hope all is well. I will hold off sending your package until I hear from you. And don’t worry about reimbursement. Consider it all an early (or late) birthday present. 😉 😉 😉

ParticipantDavid Day wrote:MVF, overnighted me some of her meds! 😆David,
I forget….did I send the little green “mellowed out” meds, or the great big red “Dammitol” ones??? 😉 😉I’m STILL waiting to hear from you about the “Me So Hornsby” bracelet. Send me (by PM) your address, and I’ll send it your way, along with a little surprise…. my treat. And I promise I won’t become some kind of stalker just because I’ll know where you live……..much.

ParticipantI went to the Bay Days site. There is a thing called Gold Row Seating. It’s $5.00 each, first come, first served. Maybe I read it in that article that was posted. They did mention VIP beverages, though. 😉 Maybe whoever gets there first should buy up as many as is allowed.

ParticipantDavid Day wrote:On the other hand, maybe I like being lead around in a “DAWG” collar! 😆 😆 😆Especially if that DAWG collar is black and red and says “Me So Hornsby”……..’cause I’ve got yours ready and waiting…..
MVF
ParticipantShoot, if Dave is already on the way, I may show up even if they DO cancel the show. But I’ve seen Bruce play in the rain at the Biltmo’ before, so it will literally take a ‘cane to get him off the stage.

Participant“It was bad to worse, as the landlord cursed,
And the water tank in the backyard burst.
We were slippin’ and a slidin’, and killin’ thirst,
And we couldn’t see a soul doing it in the dirt.Oh, what a time!
Everybody was praising, raising.
Oh, what a time!
It was a time to be amazing.
Time to lose all reason or rhyme…
What a time!”Personally, I think a little rain will just make things interesting.
MVF
ParticipantLucky you!!
I’ve been handing in some pretty creative requests for about 25 shows now, and none of MINE have shown up in a Request Collage…not even one of the many Teddy Bears I’ve sacrificed to carry my requests on stage. And, believe me, giving up Humpy the Bear was woefully painful….but… it got me onstage to dance with Bruce and Ricky in Raleigh!! 😆 😆 😆Maybe my request for Bay Days will make a Collage….a black rubber rat to request “Black Rats of London” 😉
MVF
ParticipantMVF will be there, unless they cancel due to Hanna!!!
(please note that I didn’t even try to correct Mr. Day’s spelling or grammar….
