I never saw that one coming…ROTFLOL! So now do we all need Discovery Channel names as well? Rich and I need to grab ones from Deadliest Catch. LOL!
If we’re taking names from “Deadliest Catch” (my favorite show), I get to be MVF .. Most Vociferous Fisherman!

ParticipantCould we make it a “meet up before and during”??? I have to drive back to NC after the show. SOMEBODY has to teach those first graders first thing Monday morning……..
MVF
Participant….wish I had XM radio…..and a back porch……..
The first time I heard “Sunflower Cat”, I was on my way to the Historic Triangle (Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown) in Virginia for my yearly sabbatical. I had just pulled onto the Jamestown Ferry with my brand-new copy of Spirit Trail in the CD player when “Sunflower Cat” came up. I cranked up the volume, opened all the windows and the sunroof in the car, and commenced to dancing on the deck of the ferry. I had quite a little party going right before Security came and shut us (and the car) down. It was a magical moment. 😉
David, your musings put me in the mood to crank up “Sunflower Cat” while I was working on my classroom at school today. Bit Of Trivia…..# of times that non-Bruceheads are willing to listen to “Sunflower Cat” in a row before complaining….14. Just thought you’d like to know.

I had to look up each word just to make sure I still knew what they meant. I believe I have to take umbrage at that remark ❗ ❗ ❗
Now, go look that up in your Funk and Wagnall. 😉
MVF
ParticipantYes, I see the same way now………..
MVF
ParticipantYes, because SOMEBODY ordered it on your behalf. I’ll let Andy know!
MVF
ParticipantOnly 55 days, 4 hours, 21 minutes, and 15 seconds until I get to see the Noisemakers onstage again!
MVF
ParticipantThanks, Trent. A VERY interesting article. I like how the interviewer tries to use one of Bruce’s songs against him, but Bruce turns it right around on him. I guess I had never thought of The Way It Is in reference to the current political campaign, but it definitely fits. I wonder what other Bruce songs could be interpreted politically …perhaps Circus on the Moon?

ParticipantI sent an email to the address on the back of the book, and, lo and behold, I received a delightful reply back. Andy Harley and I had quite a little chat through email about his poetry. He is an insightful poet, and, boy, does he know Hornsby music!.
Andy was curious as to how many people had purchased his book Till The Dreaming’s Done through Bruuuce.com. Let me know if you have, and I’ll pass that info on.

ParticipantNOW I know the appropriate “punishment”…..
One week with no “Stacked Mary Possum”.
THAT should be painful!!
MVF
ParticipantOh, I’ll get you for that…..maybe today… maybe tomorrow… maybe in Hampton….. but rest assured, I WILL NOT let that remark (however true it may be) go unpunished.
Now, let’s see what an appropriate punishment might be…. any ideas, gang??

ParticipantThanks for the additional info. If you do have that concert, what were the first few songs??? Like I said, I came into it late.
You know, I’m almost afraid to keep cleaning out these closets…..I’m not sure who/what I’ll find??!!
MVF
ParticipantLike I said…….

ParticipantAlthough there are some people on this forum that may disagree, I like to think that MVF ALSO stands for Most Valuable Fanatic. 😉
By the way, I forgot to say “welcome” to our little world here on the Forum. You’ll find that we are all just one big, happy, dysfunctional family. Treah is our resident sage, bryandunn is our expert on all things Bruce, rdiakun is definitely the wordsmith of the group, nicos is the philosopher/dancer, and David is…..the class clown!
Me?? I’m just here to add the “fun” to “dysfunctional”! 😆 😆
MVF
ParticipantOkay, guys, be nice. You, too, were new to the forum at SOME point.
Bram, MVF is short for Miss Virginia Former (reference “The Longest Night”). I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, and left, kicking and screaming, about 13 years ago. I return there every chance I get…..especially if there is a Bruce concert involved.
Speaking of which…
Hampton Bay Days is only ~about~ two months away!!!
MVF
ParticipantI am sharpening my claws as we speak.
Actually, I have friends in the area that I will probably mooch off of (after all, I AM Miss Virginia Former for a reason…..)
MVF
ParticipantThank you, thank you, thank you!!
You are a genius!!I have highlighted the “Bruce” phrase in each of the 62 poems in Andy Harley’s book. It’s kinda fun to flip through and read just those snippets. For each one, just the phrase brings back the entire song. The subtitle of the book is “Poems Crafted For Thinking People”. I think it should be “Poems For Bruuuce.comPlete Fanatics”!! 😆

ParticipantOh, baby! You’ve obviously never ridden with me in my ’89 Acura Integra Hatchback!!!!! It’s 3.5 hours the MVF way!!! 😯
MVF
ParticipantHey, SIB,
Wow, how could I have missed THAT one!?!? Thanks. I was starting to go crazy.Hey, check out page 68. Funny, but from the notes I’ve made in the margins of MY copy, Andy didn’t use any lines from Big Swing Face – except this title. In fact, the “Bruce” phrase in this poem is from “Barren Ground”.
Andy, if you read this — I would LOVE to chat with you about your wonderful talent and obvious love of Bruce’s work.
MVF
ParticipantIt’s about a 3.5 hour drive from Greensboro, NC. Just hop on I-85 and drive north. If you are truly interested, I can give you more detailed directions.
MVF
ParticipantNow it’s only 70 days, 1 hour, 38 minutes, and 16 seconds until Hampton Bay Days!!!
MVF
ParticipantThanks, David. I needed that. Nice to know you are back.
Jackie, I think I am probably just a weeee bit too old to be your long-lost twin. But it’s a nice thought. I’d much rather have you for a sibling than that bratty little brother I ended up with! 🙄
MVF
ParticipantOkay, you win. That is, by far, the oddest Bruce item I’ve seen yet. Maybe I can get our little marching band at my school to play it in the Christmas Parade this year!
