Miss Virginia FormerDue to an extended illness, it’s been awhile since I’ve been on board. So, Howdy!!
I am the infamous (notorious) Miss Virginia Former. My nemesis, Dreadlock Dave, has decided my name is too long, so I am now known as MVF. I am also known as the Queen of the Biltmo’ Sho’ (The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC). Of the 68 Hornsby shows that I’ve seen, six of them have been at that most wonderful venue in the world.
I have met Bruce and his family many times. Put it this way. You know that fine line between hobby and obsession? I teeter on that line every time I meet with Bruce. He knows me well enough to say, “Hey, how ya’ doin'”, but it’s not quite to the point where he sees me and says, “oh my God, call security. She’s here again”!!!!!!!
I can’t wait to meet you at a Bruce Concert. You can’t miss me. I’m always the one giving out wine to all my BiBs and SiBs (Brothers in Bruce and Sisters in Bruce).

I know Jackie, Monica and her two kids will be there, too. Oh, and trust me, I KNOW all about cheap accommodations. My son and his wife live in Cary. I THINK they might let me, and maybe a few others stay, too. I’ll have to butter them up. Is there any way we could buy all our tickets at one time so we can sit together??? Not that most of us sit, anyway, but just in case. Let us know ASAP. By the way, I’m really pissed that there will AGAIN be no Biltmo’ Sho’ this year. I am considering retiring my T-shirt.:!:
Monica and I are looking into making a side trip to Williamsburg, VA along with this concert. Anybody else interested?

THIS squaw will be working a birthday party at the Alamance Children’s Museum all that day. And since it’s a good four hour drive from here to Cherokee, I just don’t see how I can swing it.
I’ve seen Bruce at the Blumenthal in Charlotte. The acoustics are truly awesome. It is a show not to be missed. Although I can understand Chief Big Talk’s reluctance to show his face at a solo show……….

Previously on this post, I MIGHT have mentioned that “Levitate” was my least favorite CD, that I only really liked four tracks off it. Well……..
On a recent road trip of 12 hours, my car CD player ate that particular CD and refused to give it back. So for 12 hours straight, I listened to ALL of “Levitate.
I will never again bad mouth anything Hornsby… 😆

We will get together near the front of the stage around 6:00 – 6:30. I know there is another concert before Bruce’s, but that just seemed the easiest. What we do from there will be decided by the group.

I think the idea of a tailgate party is the best thing you have come up with in a while. I assume you are driving and will have a car (tailgate). I will actually be based at my parents’ house, so I will not only have a “tailgate”, but access to grocery stores, ABC stores, and cooking and refrigeration implements. Give me a day or two to scope out the lay of the land at Harborfest, and then we can plan from there.
Now all we need are people……
Am I to assume you will be bringing a date, or are you going this one stag??? Since my BFFs Monica and Jackie will not be in attendence, it will just be little ole’ me. 😥 I think I remember HDbann saying something about being there, but not sure. I’ve posted a “roll call” on the Harborfest concert post, so we will have to see who RSVPs. But if this event turns out to be just you and me sitting on a curb eating hot dogs and passing a bottle of ripple back and forth, it will still be a hoot. 😆 😆MVF

***Meet up –it’s been awhile since I’ve been to Waterside (the collection of shops, restaurants and pubs immediately adjacent to the Harborfest venue), but there used to be a really great hangout called Phillips Seafood. We could meet there around fivish for drinks and nibbles. Am up for alternate suggestions. At the Biltmo’, I usually provide a quantity of the house wine (Biltmore House Zinfindel) to all my friends, acquaintances, and hangers-on in line in order to toast the upcoming concert. If anybody can find an indigenous spirit for Norfolk, I’ll pop for a couple of rounds…… Or we can just drink our usual ripple.
