KeymasterI did have that one, Fritz. Bear with me and I’ll do some digging around. It may not have survived the great hard drive crash of 2012, but someone else may have it.

KeymasterWe’ve had a lot of sign-ups from Facebook and the Dead community, apparently.
Well, good to have you on board!
Si Twining
KeymasterWelcome to the Board, Steen!
How did you find us?

KeymasterWe’ll be covering it on this site for those who don’t have access to Sirius.

KeymasterI’ve seen maybe a dozen shows on an itinerary, but it’s unclear whether they’re solo, Noisemakers or “other”.
Si Twining
KeymasterActually, I know very little about that. I believe Land was only a temporary agreement, but really have no idea. I’ve never met hi mor Michael Baker, who was last heard of in Italy, I believe.
Really no idea, I’m afraid! Anyone else?

Keymasterooooffff… imitation is the sincerest form of flattery..!

Yeah I miss the Bruce Base as I always used it to see how often certain songs were played and what shows they were played at. I was looking to see how often Bruce played Sunlight Moon about two months ago and thats when I noticed the BB down.
Its a shame the Board isn’t getting the visits it once used to especially those 5 or 6 older folks that used to chat it up daily here…its weird that they all just fell off at the same time.
Here we go, GG (and others) – the Bruce Base is back in business! It needs updating with setlists from 2012, and it’s certainly open to corrections, but the last working version is now back in working order

KeymasterOkay, @A.J. – hopefully this is what you’re looking for:

KeymasterI had a lot more to ask, including some of the above questions, but we didn’t get to everybody’s. Definitely enough left over for a next try…
(As it goes, Bruce talked pretty extensively about the “new” Noisemakers in the previous chat. That was after their first run of shows, and they’ve not played many more since then).

KeymasterAh, it’s on my great hard disk in the sky, I’m afraid. Sorry, Jenna!
Si Twining
KeymasterI put it on YouTube before I was roundly scolded for it by SNL. :blah:
Si Twining
KeymasterI’d heard OF it, but never heard it… thanks!
Si Twining
KeymasterOff the top of my head I particularly enjoy Bruce with Chris Thile. Bruce and Punch Brothers have the same management so I hope there’s more to come in that regard.
The band members timeline sounds like a great idea for a project. Stay tuned…!

KeymasterI’ll get onto it. The database was written for me about a decade ago, and it’s a huge pain in the rear… every song must be typed exactly the same way, and case-sensitive, so for example these would be four different songs:
* End Of The Innocence
* End Of the Innocence
* End of The Innocence
* End of the Innocence… so hugely difficult to do it and get it right! But it’s on my list of things to do. Madhu (who wrote the original database) does this work at a cost now, so it may be a while.,,

KeymasterAh, the Bruce Base – separate to the setlists, where you can search for particular songs. It needs looking at, for sure, as it’s a nightmare to maintain… but I’ll get there!
The rest of the site is alive and well… but the Board is dying a painful death :blah:

KeymasterIt’s not a lack of appreciation, AJ, and I’m really not looking for thanks – although I appreciate them! But it’s disappointing to have someone press the “off” button with a replacement that people aren’t allowed to see.
There’s ten years work gone into this board, and sixteen into Bruuuce.com, and it’s a damn shame to have people take that away for a poor alternative, that just happens to be more accessible because Facebook is behind it.

KeymasterExactly what I termed the Solo Concerts release – an education.

KeymasterI was writing a reply to a response in here, but it seems to have disappeared! The gist of it agreed with my article, and also wondered where the casual fan had gone.
Ratdog.org was held up as an example, and Dave Rosenberg does a very fine job of maintaining that. He’s done so for over a decade. I think since the Dead crowd are in tow, there will also be a thriving community there.
I certainly wasn’t knocking the use of Facebook etc as a publicity tool (although I do have a problem with “closed” groups) – I was more lamenting the loss of several community sites to it. We’ve seen plenty of evidence that this site is very strong in some areas (raising over $6,000 for charity in June and July, for instance) – it’s up to the administrator of each site to some up with something fresh. I’m open to all ideas!

KeymasterI’ve never see one surface, Chris. I tried taping but had my gear removed. Sorry!
