KeymasterI’m going to put up some BSF “doses” to match this thread.
I said when it was released that it was going to make for some killer extended jams, especially Take Out the Trash and Place Under the Sun. Happily I was proved right!
(Interesting footnote to Take Out the Trash – Bruce spoke of it as something of a throwaway song, no pun intended, and not one of his finest).

KeymasterThey’ve done Great Balls of Fire before.
My own “Wouldn’t It Be Cool If…” actually made it into several shows, as did my back up.
The original was Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke”, which even got an airing on Good Morning America in the middle of The Way It Is a couple of years back.
Plan B was “Get Off of My Cloud”, which I got first time of asking.
New challenge is either “Tempted” by Squeeze, which I fancy hearing coming out of “Passing Through” (that’s the trick, find a song that matches and present them with a challenge)
or
preferably, I can hear them doing this old classic:

KeymasterThis album is out in just a few short weeks and, yes, Bruce is on it:

KeymasterWhich Internet browser are you using? Internet Explorer?
Is anyone else having the same problem?

KeymasterTo put some of you out of your misery – “Stacked Mary Possum” is based on “Blackberry Blossom”, which you can hear teases of throughout.
Si Twining
KeymasterI’ll give you another clue… “Stacked Mary Possum” is wordplay on the piece involved.
Si Twining
KeymasterInteresting note on “Stacked Mary Possum”… but in David Day-esque tradition I’ll turn it into a question!
Which existing piece in Bruce’s repertoire is this based on?
The clue is in the title… think of Bruce’s aversion to pretentious song names…

KeymasterLong story with this topic – David, I’ve moved your most recent post into a new topic, which I’ve (jokingly) called “Stalking Bruce”
Link: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=860&p=4102#p4102
In doing so, I managed to delete ALL of David’s posts, so have been scrambling around ever since to recover them.
All done now – but please visit David’s topic as per the link above, and see if you can answer his great question!

KeymasterDavid!
I am editing you again… your post about Candy Mountain Run has been moved to General Chat:

And Allisa’s reply. Please add your own!

KeymasterHere’s the first review – already the jazz crowd have been taken by surprise.

Actually the whole AAJ site is well worth checking out, including an equally glowing report on Intersections:

I think “Hornsby’s vocal approach to phrasing is as extemporaneous as his pianism” may be one of my favourite sentences of all time!
Si Twining
KeymasterI think it means that it distinguishes it from most of today’s music, which certainly does not make you think… i.e. mindless drivel.

Pre-op, and will be for some time, but enjoying the painkillers along the way! 😆
Si Twining
KeymasterThat’s fascinating, Allisa – thanks!
(The original idea for this topic was to gather names to help out with the distribution of the box sets at the shows, but it’s been an interesting read since it served its purpose!)

KeymasterNo penalty, just a huge dent in your self-esteem 😉
I’ve switched off the kudos for a number of reasons… they may return if I can think of a better way to utilise them.

KeymasterI, too, am familiar with the excretions of Rich’s brain, although I would not profess to know the workings of it.
At all.
Which is why I invited him to post on here!

Keymasteruh oh… I’m almost afraid to ask… she was stood up front with her cell phone? What was said?

KeymasterHi
Most of the site should tell you what you need – but post any specific questions and you’ll no doubt get a reply
Si Twining
KeymasterI think your plan is somewhat flawed.
I’ve seen skis smaller than the shoes Bruce wears. You’d need to kill more than a few crocs to get him a new pair

KeymasterFor the longest time, I had a Simpsons alarm clock. That music used to wake me up every morning, and taunted me for the rest of the day.
It’s going to happen again today just because I thought about it.

KeymasterNice to see another fan from this side of the pond!

KeymasterThat’s just an outstanding lineup.
Aside from the obvious, Ben Harper! The Soweto Gospel Choir with Robert Plant! Corinne Bailey-Rae, a great British talent!
Thanks for this – I will definitely look out for it.

KeymasterFrom an interview with JV – https://bruuuce.com/jv.htm:
Forgive my ignorance – who or what is “Poppy Alexander” ?!!?!
Poppy is a guy that Bruce went to school with. Somehow that name was transfered to me. -
