And lola… you know I’d never tease you…
Just as a personal preference, I’d love to see Lowell up first, but only because I was there!

KeymasterYup, I’ll back that up – you guys have been great.
I asked you all what you wanted to change on the site, and “more interactivity!” was the loud cry. So I put some bells and whistles on this forum, and waited to see what would come to pass, outside of concert season.
You’ve certainly all kept the discussions lively, cordial, relevant and thought-provoking, and the days when I’ve not been able to update the site have been far from dead. Those days are likely to increase in regularity as I prepare for Daily Dose Day 3, and deal with a few physical challenges that limit my typing at present.
“Kudos” was a well chosen word when setting up a currency for this board, and you all deserve them in abundance! As you know, the owner of the most “kudos” further down the line will receive a prize, so please continue as you are, and we’ll all benefit!

Okay, first of all, why this handle???? Gotta be a story…….Since you are the “be all to end all” (or does that just date me????) of the concert scene…
Will Bruce be doing anything for the Jamestowne 400th Anniversary in May???? I heard Colin Campbell (pres. of Colonial W’burg) say about a year ago that Bruce would be “spearheading the music scene” for the celebration, but when I asked Mama Hornsby about it last summer (I’m still waiting for SOMEONE to ask me to tell THAT story) at The Blue Talon, she said she hadn’t heard a word about it yet. I’ll be there, if nothing else but to meet the Queen and see the Magna Carta. Sure would love to squeeze a Hornsby concert in to the week. The Prof is more the Dean of live concert recordings, rather than future dates… to answer your question, there’s nothing on the list coming out of Bruce’s office.

Shop’s closed for the CD, I’m afraid, Kyle, but I’m more than happy to put it up as a dose!

KeymasterJust to throw out a little teaser – you’ll soon be able to hear some of David’s playing on the upcoming Caesar Salad tribute to Bruce!
Within a couple of months, I’d expect…

KeymasterWhat a great question.
I’d add “Line in the Dust” to your list, simply because it so plainly was NOT a solo piano song, and I doubt was ever intended to be.
Bruce adapted it and started playing it live last year in solo shows. “Mirror On The Wall” comes under the same heading, but then I love the band version of that, so it doesn’t fit your your question!

KeymasterYou wanted more, so you have it… two NBA bets for 2/28!

KeymasterYou’re right, of course, Brian – thanks!
The trio is with Jack Dejohnette and Christian McBride… a jazz trio!

KeymasterThe Professor is being modest – he can take full credit for the live CD initiative. It was his idea, and his persistence, which led to countless live releases over the years… which is why he finds himself in the Bruuuce.com Hall of Fame!

KeymasterI prefer band shows for two reasons – I enjoy seeing all the guys again, and the second reason is likely to take me on an off-topic rant about crowd behaviour. Suffice to say, I actually sensed tension in the crowd, and on-stage, at a couple of solo shows last year.

KeymasterI don’t know whether The Professor wants to out himself here, but he is certainly in a position where he would know!

Victor wrote:But for every Ashlee Simpson or Britney Spears out there, there does seem to be a Dave Matthews or John Mayer — those who display significant maturity and integrity as singers/songwriters/musicians. There IS some good music out there if you look for it.Maybe I’m being pedantic, but I don’t agree with the part I’ve highlighted, Vic. I think we’re approaching saturation level here, with what I call “palatable music” being swallowed whole by manufactured nonsense.
Sure the good music is out there, but I think that the noise ratio is far greater than you suggest.

KeymasterBefore everyone jumps on Ellen’s kind offer, can I suggest that those interested e-mail her, rather than the other way round, please? If she’s able to help, I’m sure she’ll get back to you.
(There’s an e-mail button and a PM (Private Message) button under her post).
Thanks!

KeymasterAs long as it’s not real money…!
March Madness is on the cards, and some more besides. Name the event, and I’ll look into it!
(Come the summer, I’ll be doing Bruce-related bets – show opener, encore songs etc)

KeymasterIf anyone taped this or has the means of putting it onto DVD, please make yourselves known!

Just a favour, David – since they’re separate topics, could you post them separately rather than under one banner? Thanks!

Keymaster😯 😯 😯
Can I just remind people that nothing is official until it appears on the official site. Pollstar can be the curse of Bruce’s office, as they publish tentative dates, and nobody knwos where they’re coming from.
And if anyone from Bruce’s management reads this – I know we discussed dates yesterday, but this certainly didn’t come from me!!
