KeymasterThanks for the always kind words, Bryan!
Anyone else got the new box set yet?
Si Twining
KeymasterIt’s with the band.

KeymasterTime to try on your thinking caps for size – the tour is upon us! Let’s see who can get creative…
Si Twining
KeymasterI will definitely try to make this, if anyone comes up with a definite place nearby.
Si Twining
KeymasterI will definitely be at this show
Si Twining
KeymasterBoth:
That’s fixed now!

KeymasterCome back to this site at 10am EST this coming Saturday, and get a three day headstart on public ticket sales!
You’ll all get instructions at that time.
Si Twining
KeymasterI’d suggest doing it chronologically… don’t hit him with the live or the recent stuff earliest, or he’s getting the best first of all!

KeymasterThe trick to getting an older song played is to write out the words… “Old Playground” was a request of mine after I had scribbled out some lyrics (and asked him to tie it in with Rainbow’s Cadillac).
I do have a plan to get “Passing Through” out of him… I have an old favourite (non-Bruce) song that I’d like to hear a segue from. I mentioned it to him in jest last summer and he was surprisingly receptive!

KeymasterI take no responsibility if anyone decides to request one of Bruce’s demo songs from the 80s, which can still be found at:
… and would stand a better chance of getting a few bars played if the lyrics were written out for him…

KeymasterI don’t think a video exists, Erin, but there is a photo at:
Si Twining
KeymasterI don’t believe so, Smaze.
Although, I am sure I heard somewhere that some of the songs have been redone. Specifically, that Lost Soul had been re-recorded with Shawn Colvin.

KeymasterI will do my best to keep as many doses as possible up during the day, and possibly the next day.

KeymasterI was at Dublin, and was promised a recording of it, but the guy never came through, I’m afraid

KeymasterRe: Summer Tours??
LolaPelusa wrote:Si,I really do miss you; bruuuce.com is a daily habit.
Okay!! If you have any info on “The Summer Tour, 2006,” Please, please tell us. Every year, just about this time, I start getting antsy for Bruuuce and the Band. I plot and scheme to get almost anywhere, the UK included. From his year end post, it sounds as though BRH will be spending most of his winter/spring in the studio with the ‘Ricky and Bruce’ album and then, [be still, my heart!] a jazz album with [o my god!] Jack Dejohnette and Christian Mc Bride [O MY GOD!!!]…so, Si, What do you know? ??
I know precisely nothing, I’m afraid, although Bruce has hinted at a tour in the second half of the year on his own site. I can’t imagine he’ll release the bluegrass album, and the box set, without a tour.
Bruuuce.com shoudl return properly on January 30, in the meantime I’m rehabbing a shoulder/neck injury and trying to type one-handed!

Thanks,
-goavesThat was always the plan – it’ll be up soon.

KeymasterOkay, someone’s e-mailed me to suggest a “Request of the Year” award.
Nice idea… I’ll cobble some nominees together from the setlists, but do any of you have any that spring to mind, or any more award suggestions??
– Si.

KeymasterHi Rob:
Thanks for your message. I appreciate the sentiment, and others have suggested the same.
To be honest, I get my jollies out of the various e-mails – and this forum – on an ongoing basis. That’s really enough for me.
Aside from that, I’m not really comfortable with running a website which tells people how great it is! I’d rather let the content speak for itself.
Thank you, though. I appreciate your words.
– Si.

Keymasterolstar wrote:Hey Si,Have been listening to some of the MP3′ s available for download on the site and I quite enjoy the ones with the orchestral side to them. Do you know if Bruce has ever thought of doing a record like this or even an instrumental cd.
Do you know when is his next record due?
Keep up the good work.
I believe that an orchestral CD has been on the cards for a quite a while – a studio CD.
I always like those shows also, but I’m not sure that Bruce feels the same… he seems kind of hamstrung and unable to do the usual free-flowing improv.
Makes for a nice new take on his music though.
Si Twining
KeymasterIf you could let me know the show, I’ll have a look for you…
Si Twining
KeymasterSure, if you all agree to come to the UK this time!
(Or does that defeat the object?) 😆

KeymasterHi Ed –
I’ll be there and hoping to make a decent taping of it myself. No idea where I’m sitting yet, though.
As far as requests go, it’s a matter of shouting it out, or writing something on whatever’s handy and throwing it onto the stage – preferably before the show, or during a break!!

KeymasterBoth Josh Dodes CDs, who many will know from this site’s features in the past (and if not, I urge you to check him out – http://www.joshdodes.com)
Also Counting Crows, who I’d recommend live to anyone (Adam Duritz is great – he has a cooresponding “action” for about every line of every song).
