I didn’t, but now that you mention it, that’s a great idea, JF1…

No no – I wasn’t being sarcastic, GG – I didn’t list the songs toward the end and only realised once I’d seen your post. So – duly corrected!

Thanks for correcting my published setlist, GG! I wasn’t paying attention there at the end.

A fun set (especially enjoyed Sonny’s intro to The Way It Is).

Some of these will be up on the front pages as doses in the upcoming days. The Levon cover is up already.

😳 What is wrong with me? I was even at that show!

Thanks for the tip – I’ve amended the name of the file…

Well, I can help with Swing Street, as it appeared as a dose from a show last summer. I think I was sent it as a one one file (which explains why I don’t have the setlist).

    Try the Dose archive page:

As for Barren Ground and Holy Trinity, leave it with me…

Great read – thanks for sharing this.

JF1: you’ve defeated me here! I’ve looked through the setlists and can find 29 mentions of a “Sad Moon”. Even the ones played on a band show look like they were done solo!

Oh, I’ve been to NH before several times, but only as far as Portsmouth and Hampton Beach. I enjoyed both!

Two shows in two days can’t be a bad thing – it’ll be worth the wait!

If I can get the cash together…

Not really in agreement on the abrupt ending – we got two songs in an encore. I spoke with Bruce afterwards and he appreciated the crowd’s interest in what he does.

    Hopefully he’ll be back!

I was there. Bruce got a standing ovation as far back as I could see, so I’m guessing the two or three who expected the Range to turn up had to be vocal about it. Talk about cutting your nose to spite your face… these people apparently allowed Bruce one set to play all of his hits, and when they only heard one of them, took off at the interval!

Same for them, as second half they’d have got what they came for.

What I find most bemusinis hat these people must have known before the show that they evidently hadn’t followed Bruce in years, so why get in a tizzy because they didn’t recognise the songs?!

Bruce acknowledged a European influence on the modern jazz that he’s been studying, and so that was reflected in some of what he played. He also rewarded some of the more uncommon requests that he didn’t expect people to know (What the Hell Happened…) which only further confuses me when the Facebook intelligentsia complain that he only played what he wanted to.

I saw little evidence of an unhappy crowd, so I’m betting that the two or three who walked out during the break were irate enough to show their behinds on Facebook before they’d calmed down.

Bruce’s reaction to that request was good natured – and drew a laugh when Jerry Douglas actually thought that WAS the name.

We got 2 1/2 hours out of them and you could tell (as always) they were having a ball, and Bruce was genuinely appreciative of the crowd.

    However!

See the separate thread on some of the Facebook reaction, which I found quite bizarre.

Believer it or not, “Michael Row the Boat Ashore”. Bruce had dared him earlier in the day to do it. I think it was payback for JV daring him to play guitar a few days earlier.

Rescheduling aside, don’t boycott any new date on point of principle – that’ll just end with someone else in your seat. No point cutting your nose off to spite your face – unsure of the reasoning behind the new plans, although I’d be confident enough to surmise that it’s not Bruce’s decision.=

At least know that your area is on the radar… check Bruce’s FB page to see how often any concert announcement is immediately followed by “When are you coming to…?”

April 1 at the same venue.

I’ll see if I have a copy I can put up. I checked with Bruce’s team, who asked that I pass this on:

    Quote:
This is not authorized to be sold on Rhapsody. Bruce had given it away on the website a few years back, as you are aware but had never authorized the sale of this. I am going to have to inform Rhapsody so that they can pull this down as well.

Thanks for pointing this out, as I was unaware of their attempts to sell this.

I’m intrigued by the mischievous, vague announcement of “special guests” for an otherwise solo show in Glasgow in January. It’s in the middle of a celtic music festival, so goodness only knows what collaborations are in store!

Great find! I’ll share this with JT… he’ll love it.

Rockpalast have some pretty outlandish, and always worthwhile, DVD releases. It’s a German music show that pretty much let people get away with anything. Bruce has some interesting stories from his own appearance on there, back in the Range days. The opening act (he wouldn’t name them) just put the crowd to sleep, so they set about tearing the house down with the ensuing set.

    Thanks again for sharing, T!

We’ll get them back, especially with a tour coming soon!

At least you have the honour(?) bestowed on you of making the 8000th post on this Board 😆

It seems gimmicky to me. I know Bruce has mentioned it a few times, although not recently to my knowledge, but I’m really hoping he’ll change his mind on this one.
