ParticipantGreat review Aaron. It was a memorable and meaningful night of spectacular music. Even those of us who “know what to expect”, got a great surprise with not one but TWO new songs written for SCKBSTD. As always, the whole show was a musical journey. Bruce was in top form and the only thing I can add to your comments is that the performance seemed to be over WAY to soon. Bruce knows how to leave us looking forward to the next time.
It was great meeting you.

ParticipantWhat a beautiful photo Simon has posted on the home page of this site. We can all see her amazing spirit in her eyes and her smile. I wish I’d been fortunate enough to meet her in person, but she stunned the life out of me by calling me once. And we corresponded occasionally via email. The world lost someone very special today.
Peace be with you Missy

ParticipantWe haven’t lost Mary because the two of us will get to enjoy the show together.

ParticipantI’m with Si about the songs on Big Swing Face. I am one who has always really liked the album and the band takes the songs to great places. Bruce’s solo renditions of The Chill and This Too Shall Pass are mesmerizing!
The Noisemakers performed Take Out The Trash while we danced on stage in Indianapolis in 2004. It’s one of my best concert memories!

This latest podcast is GREAT! Thanks for sharing Rachel’s new single. It’s screaming hot! I’ll be watching her website for the next opportunity to catch her performing in NYC.
Got to agree with Molo3 about the longer podcasts. Please take this as the compliment it’s meant to be….but often on the shorter ones I think “huh? that’s all?!?!” when they wind up. Way to leave us anticipating the next time.
Love the music AND love all you chose to chat about. So THANKS!

ParticipantI know this wouldn’t be a spur of the moment idea Si. But for the future, maybe you could get Mike Raphael to chat with you a for a few minutes about the play. Your interviews are always great.

I am planning to be there. I was looking at airfares today. Crazy weekend for me…though I live in NY, I’ll be in Indiana on Friday((9/24) for my highschool reunion (I won’t say which one….YIKES!) Anyway, decided I’d come back to NY via Norfolk. It’s not THAT far out of the way LOL!! Fortunately, I hadn’t made my plane reservations for anything yet.
I’m looking to arrive in VA mid afternoon Saturday and just be there overnight. Would love to meet up! I’ll let you know when my plans are set.

I have several solo shows in my collection. If you can give me dates, I can see if I’ve got the ones you’re looking for.
No money for shows! You send me blank cds and a postage paid envelope for me to return the shows to you. It’s a shiny karma thing.

The latest podcast is just terrific. I was listening to it this morning in my car and when I pulled up to the gate at my friend’s neighborhood, the security guy said “WOW! You look happy!” Your conversation had me smiling ear to ear. Wonderful, wonderful job. Thanks to you and your guest (I won’t spoil it for the others) for giving me such a great start to my day.

ParticipantQuote:you need to be more careful where DD is concerned. We all know how susceptible he is to new ideas and having thoughts put in his head. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t already reached for the peroxide bottle and gone platinum.I think THIS maybe be the post of the year!

ParticipantI was initially taken aback by that comment too. But, we’re as young as we are in our heart, right?!?
I decided that being a dancer and not a sitter puts me in the “young” catagory!
I don’t get older….I just get more blonde.

ParticipantI haven’t seen it yet Mark….but I’m on the lookout.
It was a great show. Hopefully we’ll find it.
Congratulations on the new baby!!!

B & P = Blanks & Postage
Someone wanting a copy of a show sends the appropriate number of blank cds along with a postage paid, self addressed envelope to a person who has the show as is willing to make copies. It’s considered a tree because the person who seeds (makes the first cd copies) just makes one or two, then the recipients agree to make copies to others who request them. So, the music branches, but no one gets overloaded with a huge number of copies to make. It works if everyone who receives a show is good enough to do the same and make copies for the next few people to ask.
My life is pretty swamped right now so I can’t commit to making a ton of disks but I’d be willing to seed out the show’s I’ve downloaded from bit torrent to you or Rich if you guys will be willing to take it from there. Send me a PM if you want to set something up.

ParticipantThanks for that Jeff. I have a hard time parking myself in front of my computer to listen to /watch anything. It will be great to get it onto my ipod and be mobile.

ParticipantRich –
I have downloaded the torrents that are available. I’ll be happy to make you b & p copies if you want to take it from there.

Hey!! I was thinking of you when he announced this show and was sure you’d be there. I wanted to come out to Pitt, but we went to visit daughter #2 in Amherst that weekend. Thanks for the detailed review. Hopefully, a recording will surface…I’d sure love to hear it.
Hope you are well. Great to hear from you!!

ParticipantMy experience in general is that the indoor audiences are sitters. But, it seems that those of us who NEED to dance, can always find a way, over to the side or in the back. I’m always very conscious about disturbing my neighbors, but people usually don’t have a problem with dancing if you can stay out of their way. I can respect that some people are there to watch the genius on stage as much as hear it.
It’s just the nature of the indoor show (usually). If I want to stay in a seat with an awesome sight line, I sit. I most likely am bouncing and swaying in my seat….but I sit. Sitting STILL at a show is an impossibility for me. And when I HAVE to dance, I just get out of everyone else’s way.
I think a lot of times the reason there are so many sitters is that no one wants to be the first one up. That, or a lot of folks have forgotten how good it feels to be free and dance like no one is watching.
