ParticipantBefore the show, they specifically announced that no recording was allowed at the venue. I didn’t see any tapers set up, but hopefully someone got it. It was another fabulous show.
Great venue for photography though. I sent some images to Si. I’m sure he’ll have them up soon.

ParticipantYES!! Three cheers for our tapers!
Haven’t seen Albany anywhere yet. Is it posted somewhere?

ParticipantI have to agree with Carey…I usually feel like the last show I’ve seen is “the best”. My feeling leaving the Klein was no exception. Incredible show. I see the Richmond show is up for download now, so I’m anxious to hear what I missed last night.

ParticipantHey Vic.
Thanks for setting me straight!
I’m sure that Mirror on the Wall (on dulcimer) will soon surface. He did it again last night in Bridgeport…leading in with Dark Star (shout out request).
There were tapers at in both Albany and Bridgeport. Hopefully we’ll see the shows available soon.

ParticipantT – So sorry we missed each other.
Great job hitting the highlights of the show.
Here’s what I can add…
It was Song C. What a relief to hear that I’m not the only one who can’t keep the ABC’s straight. I had to pull it up on my ipod to reassure myself I knew which one it was.Your “unnamed” song…LINE IN THE DUST.
(I requested it coincidentally!)We might not have gotten the first Mirror on dulcimer, but I think we got the first I Truly Understand he’s performed on it.
Talk of the Town>Charly, Woody and You was THE highlight. WOW!!!
I think it’s worth mentioning that about half way through, Bruce asked if anyone was bothered by the fact that he had not yet played one of the hits and the audience rippled with a laugh that said, “We’re cool with that!” I’m so blow away by the fact that once he goes into The Way it Is, he can make it “new” and I’m still thrilled to hear it.
I had a good angle for pictures. Dave, I’ll post some asap.
In Bridgeport tonight!!

ParticipantI know Lizzie was planning to be there. We’ll have to get the scoop from her when we see her tonight.

ParticipantT –
Well….YOU will obviously be very easy to spot!
I look a lot like my picture…probably won’t be wearing a hat.
The whirling dervish on Here Come…is my darlin’ friend Elyce! However, I have a very hard time sitting still through a Bruce show and if we get invited to dance on the stage….I won’t miss the chance.
I’ll be looking for that pink carnation!

ParticipantT –
If you happen to see me at the venue tomorrow, please stop me and say hi. I really like meeting others from the board.
Anyone else going to the Egg? How about Bridgeport?

ParticipantThe lyrics of Invisible really hit home with me. My 14 year old son has been a bully magnet through the years. Fortunately, it is finally an improved situation. He’s heard the song, but has not commented to me on it. It might hit just a little too close to the bone for those who have suffered through it. I love the song for making the rest of us think about what it must feel like to be a victim of someone elses mean streak.

ParticipantI was at the show last night too. Bruce and the band surely were giving their all. Musically, it was a terrific night.
However, I made the same observation as you. It was a “polite” audience. I was one of the few really bouncing in my seat. I noticed some dancing going on along the far wall behind my line of sight, but I also noticed that it didn’t last. Surprising, since someone in the hall called out indicating that people wanted to dance and Bruce acknowledged that folks could dance over in the side aisles. I don’t know if it dwindled or if security shut it down.
Perhaps the fact that the venue was so small was at play. I did a little moving around to get a couple of different photo angles, but I was concerned that moving much would disturb others so I tried to get myself parked.
It certainly was a receptive, enthusiastic and appreciative audience…but as far as dancing goes, pretty restrained.

ParticipantAbsolutely something we’ve been anxiously waiting for.
Excellent news!!!!!

ParticipantHeath – You are absolutely right about this being the jumping off point. I saw Bruce perform a lot of the new music when he was touring this summer in NY and NJ. It was just wonderful. I’m loving the new album.
BTW…I don’t know if you caught this article from the Washington Post. It’s a good one. Bruce talks about the inspiration for all the new songs. It’s a fun read. And, it put Paperboy in perspective for me….it’s really not creepy.

ParticipantI was at the show when this video was shot. I think that’s my blond head that swishes by in the dancing.
The video is awesome. I love hearing Bruce’s commentary on the songs and the album as a whole. It’s beautifully done and really captures the spirit of Bruce and the Noisemakers. It’s a great promo piece. Let’s spread the word and get these guys the buzz they deserve.

Ha!
I was thinking of the same tune…although I’ve always liked the album version, you and I are of the same opinion, fo’ sho’. Both “Funhouse” and “King of The HIll” pick up a sense of urgency and danger in a live setting, not to mention interesting cover mutations!
Definitely a plus when the live rendition improves on the studio cut…here’s hoping that occurs in this case,

Bruce did a lot of this new material at the shows I saw recently in the NY area. It’s all tremendous!! We all know Bruce’s commitment to allowing the studio music to evolve in a performance. These terrific new songs are the seeds of music we’ll be enjoying for as long as Bruce continues to tour.

ParticipantHey Everybody – I’m loving all the chatter about the Biltmore show. It sounds like everyone had a great time and I’m not surprised to read again and again how awesome it was. I haven’t had an opportunity to see a show there, but one day I will! It all gets me jazzed for my mini tour that starts tomorrow…Red Bank, Englewood, and Peekskill. I’ll be sure to report back.
