ParticipantWow! A plethora of shows-just when I’d given up my weekly check of the livedownloads site.
I’ll be getting them on the “installment plan”-probably one concert every 1-2 weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations on which one I should buy first?

ParticipantSounds like y’all are going to have a blast!
Wish I could be there.
Shout out a “Bruuuce” for me.

ParticipantThanks,Si!
The “Rainstorm of 1.000 Clouds” interrupted the meet-up.
But I think everyone got to say hello to each other & the concert took place without further complications.

ParticipantTime is flying,it won’t be long now!
Unfortunately,I won’t be able to make the Rudino’s meetup, but I’ll definitely be there for the ‘”BBQ Feast.”
See everyone in Raleigh!

ParticipantMVF, post: 8868 wrote:Okay, then, I’ll make it official. I’ll take orders right up until 9:00am Friday. Dinner will include Barbeque, buns, coleslaw, sweet tea, and hush puppies, or their infamous Brunswick Stew, sweet tea, and hush puppies. $5.00 a person should cover everything, including transportation and importation fees, plus storage costs at my son’s house. Just respond on this site if you are interested. Oh, and I guess I need to make this clear. We are talking EASTERN North Carolina ‘que. I’ll pack along some sauce and Texas Pete for the uninitiated.Speaking of barbeque, has anyone heard from Mary aka SMP recently?

ParticipantI’ll be there,MVF!
You’ve done a great job of “cutting to the chase” & getting things done on this meetup.
. I was trying to make things way too complicated…
See you Saturday!

ParticipantDavid is right,Monica!
Just bring yourself & your family-we”locals”will take care of everything.
Speaking of taking care of things, since the meetup has become an intimate affair, it looks like our best option for food & drink will be to purchase it from the venue. If anyone wants to bring a dessert to share, that would be fine.
See you all next Saturday!

ParticipantHi everyone!
I know we’re all getting “fired up” (as David would say) about the first ever double Bruuuce.com Board meetup. I’ve gladly accepted the assignment of organizing the picnic festivities. The venue gates open at 6:30-that is the start time for this meetup. So unearth those quilts, blankets or picnic cloths out of storage and we’ll get the party started!
We will need to know approximately how many people will be at the picnic meetup so everyone will know how much food to bring.
There are 3 options for the picnic:
1) Each person attending brings food items (main dish, side dish ,dessert) or beverages or ice or paper products (cups, plates, napkins, plastic ware)-in other words-a traditional picnic. Remember food, coolers and unopened drinks are allowed. Beer & wine must be purchased at the venue.
2) Catered food items, beer, wine, etc may be purchased at the venue.
3) A combination of the first 2 options.
Which option sounds best to you all?
The big day is getting close,so if we want to have the old-fashioned picnic, please let me know who is bringing which item(s) soon.
Have I forgotten anything ? If anyone has suggestions for this event,I’m happy to receive them.
See you all in Raleigh!

ParticipantWow!
Is this the first “double meetup” in Bruuuce.com history?
I’m putting tentative reservations in for Meetup A and Meetup B,for now. When the plans are more concrete,I’ll have a more definite answer.
I do have a definite answer on one thing I’ll bring to the picnic-peach cobbler for everyone!

ParticipantI’ve just consulted my trusty “magic 8 ball” toy about Asheville. The response was “Outlook not so good.”
.
I’m still “fired up” for Raleigh, though.
Time is flying,it won’t be long now !

ParticipantNo problem,Si!
One glass of wine is my limit before a Bruce concert.
. (You may ask MVF,David or Monica-they can verify this.)
Maybe I could be the designated driver-wait- that won’t be possible. lol
I’ll be the designated “behavior monitor” instead.
I have plenty of experience; I worked in child day care for many years…
Wish you could join us in August.
All in fun,

ParticipantDavid Day, post: 8698 wrote:On the other hand…..Check out reserved seats in section 100. A thru D are general admission. You must get there very early to procure seats. Or, you can get row E on and not have to show so early and still be close to the stage!Don’t give up on Biltmore, but this will be a good ‘replacement’ as well! A beautiful venue with only Bruce and NM’s!
SHAB!

LL, GASince my transportation can be “iffy” at times, I chose the safe choice-Row E.
Can’t wait to see everyone in August!

ParticipantI completely empathize with the concerns you all have about the posted summer four dates. Travelling a long distance for a show that doesn’t live up to expectations is not an ideal situation.
Unfortunately,I don’t have a solution for the travel issue, but I may have one for the short ticket pre-sale notice.
Signing up for Google News Alerts for the topic “Bruce Hornsby” will sometimes give advance notice of concerts. I found out about the Raleigh,NC, show & bought my ticket from the venue’s site on April 3.
Don’t know if 7 days is enough time to make a difference, but sometimes the news articles provide information weeks in advance.
Hope this is helpful in some way. I also hope Bruce adds more dates that are closer to you.

ParticipantCome on,David, spill the information already! Lol,,,,
What have your sources been telling you about Bruce & The Noisemakers other plans for July?
Jackie

ParticipantMy “source” reports that Keith dislocated his shoulder during practice. His playing status for the rest of the season is uncertain at the moment…

ParticipantHDbahn,
I might be able to find an answer for you. Give me a few days to see what I can find out. I’ll let you know if I find anything out.

ParticipantThanks for sharing this, David.
Hearing “Black Muddy River” on the Here Come The Noisemakers album got me really interested in the music of The Grateful Dead.
Seeing the pictures of R.S. and hearing him play makes me feel happy and sad at the same time…
