ParticipantLoved the interview. Thanks for posting the link-I’m now an “official” podcast subscriber!
Bruce mentioned that his solo shows sell more tickets than the band shows. This really astonished me. Does anyone have any theories as to why this is so?

ParticipantWelcome,Paul!
treah
ParticipantMVF,
It’s actually 11-10-12.
If I’m reading the information correctly, tickets ARE still available. Orchestra Left is filled,Orchestra Center is filled up to Row R.
I haven’t purchased my ticket yet, either. I’m waiting for the Birthday Fairy to wave her wand & an extremely early visit from Santa Claus before I acquire my ticket.
Since you’re the Queen bee of everything Bruce related in this region of the U.S., where would you suggest the meet-up in Charlotte be held?
Looking forward to seeing many Bruce friends on Nov. 10…

ParticipantSquaw Staying Near Teepee says she has 30 year high school reunion & won’t make it to Cherokee. Maybe DJ will play”Longest Night” as consolation…
Will Pocahuntus take pictures of Chief Big Talk in his new buckskins, war paint & headdress for rest of tribe to see?
Sounds like the chief is “fired up!”
Sending smoke signals with wishes for a safe journey for the Chief and Pocahuntus,

ParticipantInteresting article.
I’m curious about other Board members opinion about Bruce’s use of the line “Nobody cares and why should they?”
treah
ParticipantSi,
The new Board looks great!
Thanks for all of your hard work on the Board and the rest of the site.
treah
ParticipantThanks for the information,Monica!
I was also disappointed when I saw the delayed date on Amazon.
I checked iTunes this morning & now it seems the whole album is ready for downloading. 😮
Thanks again for keeping us up to date!

ParticipantA very nice review of the soundtrack. The first sentence of the piece is definitely worth reading:

ParticipantI went to my mailbox yesterday and among the junk mail & bills, found a treasure. It was a DVD of Bruce & The Noisemakers’ set at Jazz Fest 2012. Thanks to hornsbytree and GuinessGoon for sharing this wonderful music.
If anyone would like me to send a copy of the DVD to them, please send me a PM & I’ll be happy to send it to you.

ParticipantThanks so much for sharing both of these great shows with us!

ParticipantUnfortunately,I wasn’t able to go to the concert, but I did find this link that claims to contain the setlist:

– 35 mm point-and-shoot camera for black and white pictures of Dreadlock Dave? 😆
– cash supply to pay for first round for SiBs and BiBs (and one second round for DD – long story)?
– extra large supply of caffeine? 🙄….so what am I forgetting???
.
This probably goes without saying, but don’t forget to take along lots of Bruce’s music to play in the car during the trip.

ParticipantMVF wrote:Mmmmmmm…..peach cobbler….Now introducing: MVF Transport Service. Able to transport all manner of items, including peach cobbler from Greensboro to Norfolk. Fee consists of a percentage of the cargo. Rates negotiable.
OR……
Dreadlock Dave could bring a bushel of those wonderful Georgia Peaches to Norfolk, and we could toast our wonderful, generous friend Jackie with Peach Cobbler au Natural 😆Being the temperamental,praise-seeking person I am, 😆 I want to bring the peach cobbler to my FIBs (Friends In Bruce) in person.
That way,I can be there to hear the accolades as they roll in. 😆
I know this isn’t the official Harborfest thread, but I’ll post my wishes for everyone going to have safe travels & a wonderful time at the concert!

Besides……Her peach cobbler is always the very bestest ever!
😳 Thanks for the kind words,David. Just trying to help a Friend In Bruce out the way many have helped me over the years.
As for the peach cobbler, you’ve only had the virtual version. One of these days, I’m gonna appear at a meet up with enough of the real dessert for everybody!

ParticipantJF1,
If I’m not mistaken,I think Bruce might have been referring to this CD:

Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

ParticipantOMG!
This is a great idea. Please put my name in the “completed shirt” group. If I tried to use a pattern,my shirt would end up looking like Theo Huxtable’s (The Cosby Show) home made shirt. 😆
Thanks Highway 61 & MVF for an interesting topic.

ParticipantHere is a ustream link where you can listen to 2 songs from yesterday’s (04/20/2012) early show in Live Oak, FL.
treah
ParticipantMVF,
Au contraire!
Amtrak has it covered. All I have to do is take the train from Greensboro to Richmond, another train from Richmond to Newport News, and finally a shuttle bus from Newport News to Norfolk. This would take a mere 11 hours.
But it would be worth it to get a Bruce & The Noisemakers fix!
Thanks for the most generous offer of shuttle service. If the cards fall into place,I might just take you up on it.

Participant(Sigh). I am so “bummed out” right now.
I’m going to check out Amtrak’s website this minute to see what the train fare to Norfolk might be… Thinking about Harborfest should cheer me up.

ParticipantThis is actually from the Vimeo site:
A 1995 version of “Scarlet Begonias.” I hadn’t seen it before and wanted to share in case anyone else had missed it.

ParticipantJF1 wrote:I forget if I read this on the board or heard it somewhere else, but apparently Bruce doesn’t like playing Every Little Kiss (I’m guessing because it’s a “love song”). .I think I read/heard in an interview that Bruce doesn’t like playing Every Little Kiss because it hasn’t aged well. He finds it difficult to “make it new” by playing it in a different way from the original. Does anyone else remember Bruce saying this?

ParticipantI could never actually ditch a Bruce song, the only tracks I intentionally skip are the 2 during the 2002 Chastain Park show during which the emcee (Vaughn Springs-sp?) is bantering.
But,
If someone twisted my arm, these are the songs that don’t “catch my fancy”:China Doll
Pastures Of Plenty
End Of The Innocence
Stander On The MountainI think I’m just not musically evolved enough to really appreciate these songs.
