ParticipantSounds like Bruce had a great time as well. From his Facebook page:
“Saturday night at Ferguson Center in Newport News was one of my favorite performances of the tour. I hope to retain,if not surpass, that level at my remaining solo shows. -bh”
And I thought the Durham concert was outstanding-if this one was even better (and it sounds as if it was), it must be one for the record books.
Hope it is released on nugs.net…..

ParticipantGreat song! I would love to hear Bruce & the band play it.
As Si has mentioned,Bruce likes to pair “cover” songs with his original compositions. Which one of his songs do you think would go well with “I Hung My Head”?
By the way, have you heard Johnny Cash’s version of the song?

ParticipantIf Bruce covered “If These Walls Could Speak,” it would be incredible…

ParticipantMVF wrote:Sooooooo,Where is my set list from Tuesday night? Did ANYONE think to make my request for me? Did anyone see Branford Marsalis in the house? And more importantly, can anyone corroborate a sighting of Dreadlock Dave at this event?

The set list will arrive in the next day or two. I didn’t fully recover from my journey to Durham until the middle of the day on Thursday . 😯
Bruce did play Road Not Taken. Branford was tentatively scheduled to be there, but ended up being in another city,no DD sighting from me. He is like the wind, you can feel his presence, but he is rarely seen.
More to come…

ParticipantDavid,
This “work” thing does get in the way of having fun, doesn’t it? 😆
I’m getting up at my usual 3 AM,catching the bus, working ’till 1 PM,then the fun begins! (Hope I don’t go to sleep during the concert-what am I saying?-not a chance!
)
Have a safe trip! See you at the theatre!

ParticipantI’m not a road scholar in deed, but I am one in spirit.
And I have a question for the actual road scholars: Who’s going to make it to Durham,NC Tuesday night? David? MVF? careyon, lesleythor,Zann, et al?
I know it’s a weeknight, but I have faith that you all have the fortitude to make the journey… 😆
As you can tell,I’m “fired up!”. Hope to see you all there

ParticipantMy username is a the word “heart” in a scrambled form. My intention was to spell heart backwards, but since my backward spelling is as good as my skateboarding,(Isn’t the rule “a before e except after t?”) – I ended up being treah.
When I first joined the Board (or the Forum,as it was known then), I wanted to be as anonymous as possible. I was cautious because this was the first online community in which I really became involved. I probably would have chosen something different if I had “known then what I know now.”
Oh well,I actually kinda like my unique username.

Congratulations!
It is truly an honor to be in the presence of greatness.

ParticipantI saw this offer today & wondered what other Board members (who are more worldly than I), might think about the subject.
Thanks for getting the ball rolling,T!
I’d be interested to hear other people’s views on this offer-positive,negative,indifferent?

ParticipantGuinnessGoon wrote:I just wish Bruce would make every show available for purchase like many jambands do these days.
He would make some extra cash and also make the fans extra happy.I would be extra happy if Bruce would do this. However, from what I’ve read/heard in various interviews,it appears Bruce feels uncomfortable releasing performances that don’t meet his high standards. Has anyone else read or heard this in interviews?
This is disappointing to many of us “die hard” fans, but it’s also admirable;Bruce only wants to make the best shows available to his fans. Maybe this is one way to acknowledge that he appreciates our discerning ears….

ParticipantGlad I read your post carefully,David. If I’d only skimmed the surface, I’d have been preparing to buy rice (or bird seed) & wondering if you were going to register at Bed Bath and Beyond or Ikea. 😆
I think you should definitely get a dog-oops,forgive me,I mean dawg. Remember,”a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”.
Sounds like a good idea to me.. And of course, the dawg’s name HAS to be Bruuuce.
Keep us posted on this new venture!

ParticipantI have to agree with you about the Biltmore,David. I’ve been privileged to attend 2 shows there & there is nothing else in the world like the feeling you experience at that place.
I haven’t seen the “white witch” of Biltmore- guess I need to pay more attention to mt surroundings!
I’m “fired up!”. 😆 Can’t wait for the concert.
Also, can’t wait to see you,MVF, Monica & the rest of the Bruuuce.com crew who will be there.

ParticipantI like the retrospective idea,too.
I’d like to think my my musical taste has broadened since responding to some of the older polls. As MVF said, it would be interesting to see if/how everyone else’s opinion has changed.

Just saying we can start the “barbs flyin’ ” once the Bruuuce.com crew gets started.
Then again, I’m sure you picked a cool person to bring on your date. They will be able to take anything we can dish out.
See you in Asheville,

MVF wrote:Uh-oh…..do I detect a massive chick road trip in the making???? Looks like we will have to show those male chauvinist porcines how to REALLY party!!!!!!! 😆 😆 😆Sisterhood rocks!
Having said that,I must admit I’ve never met a male chauvanist at a Bruce concert. I’ve attended a pre-show meetup which included the “Czar of Blabbery” in attendence;he was the perfect Southern gentleman.
On another occaision, I shared a cab with 2 male Bruce fans who were having trouble getting a taxi. I NEVER share my cab,as a matter of safety, but these guys were so polite (and stranded Bruce fans),I had to make the offer. I ended up making 2 new friends.
During the intermission at the most recent Charlotte,NC,show, a young man noticed I was keeping a setlist & asked if I would send him a copy. He was very polite, even calling me ma’am.
I know that rude male fans exist, but I have yet to meet one personally.

ParticipantAll I can say is “Wow!”. Daily Dose Day 5 was (and still is) fantastic
Lots of great Bruce music plus music from lots of other great artists to enjoy! And a chance to share with others- in a tangible way- the “good vibes” and positive feelings we get from this site.
Thanks Si,David,Bruce and everyone else who played a part in this worthy endeavor.
P.S. David, do you have the ingredients for a “tsunami” in your famous (or is that infamous) liquor cabinet? 😆

ParticipantI’ve posted the link on Facebook twice (April 13 & May 16). Planning on posting it at least one more time. Sending the link by email to family and friends.
I can’t wait for DDD! It is almost like Christmas. This is because it’s an opportunity to give to others as well as a time to receive wonderful gifts.
The musical snippets in the latest round of Last Fan Standing are truly making me “salivate” to hear the entire.CD.
Anxiously watching the countdown clock…
