Participantmolo3-You’re grasp of North American geography sounds much better than mine… 😳 😆
Mary-your free comedy is a million times better than most comedy I’ve seen on television or at the movies lately.(Disliking current tv shows & movies-does this mean I’m gettin’ old?)
Monica-Trust Mary’s fashion advice;it’s always infallible. (Well, all if it except for the Easter Bunny suit, maybe…
)

ParticipantTo borrow a phrase from Mary (or was it Monica?) “You all are cracking me up!”
Thanks,I needed a laugh today.

ParticipantMVF,
Long time,no post! Hope things are moving in a positive direction for you.
What’s going on in the Bruuuce.com world?1. A very beautiful and heartfelt song inspired by the events in Haiti by Rachel Griffin. It’s on the home page.
2.You were “drafted” to help in the Guys vs. Girls battle that ensued in the “Hornsby Musical Article” thread. See what happens when you’re absent for so long?
3. One of the newest members on the Board shared an incredible poem he wrote about Bruce.
4. David is sharing his adventures in his continuing quest to find the true meaning of “Candy Mountain Run.”
5. Si has posted some new doses for us to enjoy-hooray!
Jackie

ParticipantSince this was a ‘stealth mission,” did it progress like this: “First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is…” ?
Just wondering,
Jackie

ParticipantI’ve never been good at guessing games, but I’ll give it a whirl.
1.You were in Vancouver during the Olympics.
2.You DID capture Ms. Mountains & ironically, this happened during one of the skiing events.
3.Yes,you did have some inside information, a person as resourceful as you always has a few ” specialized skills” reserved for any eventuality…Jackie

Participant“Spcialized Skills,” somehow, I don’t think David is talking about ESP or eyesight…
Mary,
Rest assured,we girls (are we the “away team??”) have still got your back!Jackie

ParticipantThe Beatles “Past Masters” was also in my Christmas stocking a few weeks ago!
I also found a copy of “Blood & Mood” by the Bad Livers and a CD by a local artist named Daniel Lamonds titled “Ocean Of Life.”
Thanks for responding,molo3 and Rich. I always get great ideas for new music from everyone on the Board.

ParticipantMonica,
I’m sure Abigail won’t suffer any ill effects from listening to “Paperboy.” Since she has such an intelligent mom, she must have already figured out all the humorous nuances in the song.Mary,
I’m having the same trouble viewing Rich’s picture! I’ve checked my monitor and updated my video card driver, with no luck. This only leaves one solution: Our friend has returned from a time warp/parallel universe journey in outer space and is still suffering from the after effects of re-entry into this planet’s atmosphere. This upside down-sideways condition appears to be improving over time. It’s probably best not to mention it until he’s fully recovered.

ParticipantThis topic has been neglected for far too long… So before another celebration passes us by,I’d like to ask:
Did anyone get any new music over the Christmas holidays (or after)? What did you get?
Jackie
treah
ParticipantVery eloquently phrased,Rich. And very true!
Also love the timely & expressive Pete Townshend quote.

ParticipantMVF,
Let’s see…most of the news can be found on the Bruuuce.com home page.
Here on The Board, one of the biggest stories is the fact that Mr. David Day, the original Czar Of Blabbery
, has attained the title of Board Legend by submitting over 1,000 posts!
Congratulations to your son. I hope his new job is both intellectually and monetarily fulfilling.
Babytweety’s little ones would be fortunate to have you as their teacher. Just remember to skip the “Black Rats Of London” section of the U.S. History lessons ’til they’re older; you wouldn’t want to give them nightmares… 😆

ParticipantI saw my friend Kebe today & gave him a copy of the Levitate CD. He is originally from Senegal. He became a big Bruce fan after accompanying my husband & me to the Biltmore and Charlotte, NC, shows in “06 and the Greensboro, NC, solo show in ’07.
What did he think of the new CD? “I really liked songs #1(Black Rats Of London) and #4(Continents Drift),” he said.
I found this rather interesting, since these two songs are also favorites among fans on the Board & the Levitate page. It always amazes me how music transcends language and culture and brings people together.

ParticipantMary,
Your “specialized skills” (also known as ESP) are working nicely. I was thinking along
the same vein ,but simply lacked the courage to express it.. Next time I’ll “clear my head and give it a shot till the stars line up right.”
Monica, glad we added a little sunshine to your day. We think you’re great, too!

ParticipantI almost wrote the first thing I thought when i read your post,David-but “the banning stick” might tap me if I did….
You’ll simply have to use your imagination & guess what I was thinking. ESP,there’s another example of a “specialized skill!” 😆
Jackie
treah
ParticipantWow!
All i can add is this topic has become “Powerful, extraordinary, witty and eloquent, absorbing and emotive, expansive and explosive…” 😆
Mary-I haven’t written much today, but don’t worry,I’ve still got your back! Don’t they say “watch out for the quiet ones” ?
Monica-At least tell us the title of the old Bruce song you were going to quote;my mind is swirling with possible lyrics,I want to see if I’m even close. 😮
Molo3 and David-no matter what you two say, remember, you’re still outnumbered.
Jackie

ParticipantMary,
Don’t forget about MVF,babytweety2yo(when her shoulder is fully healed,of course) and me-we’ll help you out, too!
We ladies have to stick together… 😆

ParticipantOne can tell how much Tony loved Bruce’s music by reading the caption icluded with his pen pic. In only a few sentences, his enthusiasm for the music was evident. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I don’t think the CBS affiliate in my area airs The Early Show on Saturdays. Thanks for looking out for those of us who don’t have access to the program.

ParticipantMVF,
I think you turned out great! If you think your “Ratsgiving” was tension-filled,imagine being married to a politically conservative spouse! The conversations around our dinner table get very lively…
How did that song during the Presidential campaign go:”My mama’s for Obama, but my daddy likes McCain”? That’s our household!Jackie
